Are these the after pics? Could you take one where you’re not holding the sword? It would give a better example. It looks good to me.
first 2 are after, second 2 are before, for example the fur on the back used to hang smooth on the back of the character, now it floats 20cm off the back of the character. These were the only shoulders that looked smooth on norn with heavy armor, now its no more.
If you hadn’t said anything, I wouldn’t have even noticed a difference. I spent 5 minutes looking and didn’t see it. I would imagine that looking at the same character all the time would allow you to notice the differences easier. From just these pictures, though, the differences are slight.
Then again, I have trouble seeing minor changes to armor when I upgrade anyway. I suppose I just don’t pay that much attention to the detail.

I couldn’t tell either, but once pointed out I agree, that would be annoying.
The stance he is taking makes it slightly harder to see between armor and shoulder…
Attached is a more passive stance and the difference is more visible.
Great example Jex. I don’t have any decent before pics, but yours illustrate the issue very well. I’m happy that there is a lot of attention on this topic, as I love these shoulders and have used them ever since i hit 80. I truly do hope if we raise enough hell on this topic (respectfully of course) we can get a response from Anet.
I have this on my guardian as well, the armor I mean, but i can’t seriously see on the examples of Jex, whats the difference now?

Are the shoulders now slightly bigger, than before?
To point out the change is this. The original shoulder kept a flat plane along the top and were an appropriate size per character. Following the patch they have been sized up and bent outwards, and clip with the original armor now. no longer clean and shaped but bulky and slumped. My character went from proper shoulder posture to a slump.
It was horribly broken and stretched on a Norn anyway so I don’t see any difference.
Sucks for Human males though.

Before the patch, the shoulders were a high and tight stalwart straight across the shoulders. Now that they have been enlarged, they hang at an angle and clip into themselves.
I am definitely not happy about this change.
So, they fix the “skirt” issue sylvari had with HotW and broke the armor for all the other races.
Another issue with the armor regarding the boots. The Paws of Koda, on the back there is a small cloth section around the toon’s calf muscle. Previously it used to be wrapped tighter around the lower leg. Now,it has been “bell-bottomed” out and flares out instead of being wrapped closer around the leg. They used to have a pretty sleek look to them but this change disrupts the lines completely.
Can’t say I can tell much about the other changes, may be more prominent on other races/body types. My guard only has the serious problem with shoulders being contorted.
You may wish to read the first post of This Thread and then document the problem there – the Developer that handles character art bugs used to stop by regularly, though I’m less sure they do so anymore.
