Hi,
I have a problem with my eyes …I can’t see very sharp.
It makes it more difficult to get around in the game.

Is it possible to make the small map bigger?
Is there a way to customize my playing screen?

I’ve done the quests south of the Shaemoor Garrrison but I can’t find any now.
I’m at Divinity’s Reach.
How can I find more quests or tasks?

I’m a human Warrior.

Customize playing screen, you could change your resolution to a size that makes it bigger.
Yes, if you drag the upper left corner of the minimal, you can scale it larger
There aren’t really “quests” in the game, but I assume you mean hearts. There are only do many on a map. You can go to another starting area to do those hearts, but what you should really be looking for are events. They will be your main XP income.

You can drag the corner of the minimap to enlarge it somewhat, and you can zoom in on it (default is mouse wheel to zoom while hovering over the map). It won’t ever be huge, though.

The UI cannot be customized beyond enlarging and limited movement of a couple of boxes — minimap and chat, that is. You can increase your font size on the chat box using the options cogwheel. You can drag the minimap and chat boxes to the upper corners of the screen if you prefer that to the bottom corners by hovering over the edge until you see a hand symbol, then click dragging upwards.

There are not “quests” as such, and none inside the cities unless Personal Story sends you there (that opens as of level 10, it will guide you with green stars). Instead you wander around the world and find Dynamic Events, shown by orange circles on the map when you are close enough. Also gather ore, wood, and herbs as you can. Gathering tools are sold by the sylvari vendor next to the bank in DR, and by the crafting vendors by every crafting station.

Explore everything (including DR while you’re there), get into caves, view vistas, find points of interest. XP comes from everything you do in the game (just killing mobs is the worst way to get XP, by the way, you won’t get much from that unless killing them helps a heart or an event).

Also note that just because you didn’t see anything special to do in a location the first time you were there doesn’t mean it’s always empty there. Events spawn under various conditions.

I hope that helps and you find a ton to do!

Events happen randomly. Usually a little window will pop up at the side of your screen. F you are still in the human starting area, head to the first heart at the farm with the worms and cows, usually events happen there, along with some at the apple orchard and the dam and the water treatment area.

If you haven’t already done it, make sure in ur options menu to set the “Content Guide” to default settings. Not sure if this is turned on by default when u start a new character or not, but check that it’s on. This will guide you through the game. When an event is happening on the map, the compass at the top right of your screen will pop and telly there’s an event on the map. By hitting M for the main map, you should be able to zoom out too see the entire map and you will see a smallish orange circle where the event is happening. Then simply head over there and participate. As others have said, events will give u the highest exp.

Be sure to look for scouts in the map (quite often they are overlooked). They point you to heart quests in the vicinity

I have a couple more questions.:)

-How do I make a note on the world map so I can see where I have to go to on the mini map?

-I’m a human warrior.
When dualwielding…If I do a whirl or slash with both weapons together, do I use the damage of both weapons?
What does the most damage, dualwield or 2-handed?

-When I level up, will I be able to run faster or get a mount?

I don’t believe you can make any ‘notes’ on the World Map. You can place markers on the mini-map.

You can get speed boosts through Utilities (on some Professions) and/or Runes. There are no mounts, so to speak, in-game.

Good luck.

Just feel free to discover the maps of Tyria. If sou open your map there are maps which should be fitting your current level, creating places in which levelling be easy.
I would suggest going to lions arch and discovering all the other cites and its starting areas. (Always feel free to ask on maps, there are pretty much always people around who are willing to help). That way you are creating good ways of having something on each side and it’s easier that way to discover new things.

There is a vast and beautiful landscape, sometimes stunned by its beauty – great work by the creators.

In the upper right hand corner of your screeen you should see an indicator that points at the next step in your storyline, point of interest, vista, heart, skill point, scout, or the new area. In most cases it points at the nearest thing available, but it should be noted that it prioritizes storyline above all else. When in doubt just follow that indicator.

If you don’t like the indicator you can just open your world map (the ‘M’ key) and look for a telescope. The telescope denotes a scout. Go to that telescope’s location and talk to the scout. He will open your world map and expose nearby hearts.

Another way to find places to go is to open the world map and zoom out until you see zone names. At that point they should have level indicators, though possibly you need to mouse over the name to see it.

As you will be down-leveled to any zone you enter (though your gear and traits over time will leave you rather more powerful than someone truly at level), you can even go to 1-15 zones you haven’t seen in order to collect some more xp before hitting a harder zone, with the added benefit of seeing more of the set-up areas for other races.

The easiest way to do that is to go to your racial city and find the pink swirly portal on the map (in DR it’s in the Park on the top level, in the Grove it’s on the top main level, north side, in Rata Sum it’s on the top main level in one of the corners, in Hoelbrak it’s at the west end, and in the Black Citadel it is also at the west end in the outdoor area). Go through and you’ll be in Lion’s Arch with a lot of portals to other cities right by you.

Ok, there is an easier way but I don’t know how it works for new players now. If you can access the PvP zone, Heart of the Mists, that puts you in a “lobby” area and ahead of you there will be a pink portal to LA. Maybe you hit “B” to bring up PvP info and there’s a way to Go To Heart Of The Mists on that?

You can set 1 point on the map with either alt, ctrl or shift click .. always forget what
the correct key is .. just try them until you see a white dot on the map.

EVERY MMO is awesome until it is released then its unfinished. A month after release it just sucks.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.

When you apply an upgrade to a Two-Handed weapon, it comes up with a separate box with an Upgrade choice for either top or bottom option as shown in my attached picture.

If you were to choose one of the options that already has an upgrade, the new one replaces the old one, so make sure you use an unused on first.

And, in a party, when someone else places a marker, it is blue, while your own marker will be white.
