I suggest an account wide gear wallet of all the items that one has unlocked. I am suggesting an actual wallet that holds account bound real items not just the skins.
These items would have to be account bound and not be usable in the mystic forge or salvageable.

This will diversify play and will allow us to experiment with different builds.
Currently, if the gear is account bound, I have to un-equip the gear, send it to the bank, log in with the other toon, have the other toon go to the bank, look for the gear and equip it. SO, if I decide to play with the toon that I removed the gear from, I will have to do the same thing.

This is tiring for most people who love to play with their 1,2,3,4,5… toons.
Furthermore, mixing gear often results in a mixed, scramble bank and lost of memory of where the gear is, you don’t know if it is in toon 1 or 2 or 3 or 10.

Please add this suggestion to the TODO list.

So something along the lines of shared inventory slots for gear? Well we already have shared inventory slots, so if you want to swap gear through it you are free to do so.

That is not what I said. I said a “gear wallet” similar to the skins wallet but with real weapons that we can choose from.

I’ve unlocked hundreds, if not thousands, of items. So, basically, you want anything in the Wardrobe to be accessible at no cost? Or, just a really, really large bank carried around with each character?

Good luck.

The idea is simple. I don’t know why you guys don’t get it. The gear wallet will allow you to select a weapon with specific stats that you have unlocked. You don’t need a really really large bank to access gear stats. Based on this link https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Equipment_acquisition_by_stats

There are 32 gear stats.

How do you handle the disruption to the economy?

So you just need to acquire a weapon once, so say a Zojja’s Claymore, and then you can replicate that item as many times as needed/wanted from your “gear” wallet?

Either you are asking to be able to share equipment between characters more easily than going through the bank (which is possible with shared inventory slots), or you are asking for the ability to acquire a piece of equipment one time and have as many copies of it as you could ever want, which is beyond absurd. So which one are you asking for?

Share inventory slots are expensive and do not help at all the cause. I don’t want to move gear from 1 player to another.

This is pretty much what people suggested for the wardrobe, the ability to save outfits, and stat combinations, separately, and swap them around.

Then we got the wardrobe, and the ability to save stats in any way was not part of it, and I don’t think its ommision was accidental, this isn’t a feature they intend to add. Most likely because when you get to higher levels, gear is no longer gear but the main method for obtaining a bunch of mats and upgrade components, all of which would tank if players could just make them once and then save them forever without sacrificing precious account space.

Pretty much saw this coming since launch, having the lions share of certain mats come from gear was always an incredibly stupid move, ESPECIALLY after making it so drops scaled with level, causing lower level items to actually be worth more than people at that level could reasonably be expected to pay.

If ANet had taken the time to think before hand, or listened to the myriad of players who pointed out this and many other flaws back when they could have been fixed, nodes would have been the primary method for obtaining most if not all mats. But unfortunately it’s so ingrained in to the system now that changing it would basically equate to redesigning the reward system from the ground up.

Bad idea upgrade-wise. Not a fan of unsalvageable gear.

The only way this could ever be possible is if each item was deposited to gear storage or something, the way materials are deposited. They’d have to stay account bound and unsalvageable/no forge/no merch. There is so much more we need before this is even on a post-it note in Anet’s office. It’s easier and cheaper for everyone to switch gear in the shared inventory slots. If all you want access to all stats all the time, see Legendaries or how to swap stats on ascended gear.

wait so build templates with the added bonus of gear disappearing from your inventory to its own special, highly accessible place and the elimination of the need for multiple expensive copies of an item by reducing them to a wardrobe style unlock instead of a duplicable item?

His suggestion is outrageous? Sir/ma’am/it, what you are suggesting is whats outrageous, it could (in the extreme unlikelihood it got implemented) would pretty much break the game for good. It certainly would destroy the economy. Earning or making more items for your characters is a basic and intrinsic part of this game, or any MMO for that matter. And not wanting to take the time to stick an item in the bank, switch toons, then pick it up again? Weak.

So you can’t “explore” the game’s different combos on 10+ characters? So what. That’s your problem for making more characters than there are classes. Almost no one else does that. The majority of players stick mostly with just a few as there main classes.

Hate is Fuel.

I don’t want to switch gear back and fort between my characters. If I have unlocked a weapon and its account bound, then I want the weapon or gear to be available in a gear wallet or something.

Right now, we have many account bound items, but equipping those items is inconvenient when you have 10+ toons and you play with all of them.

Just think how that would hit the economy. Level one char to 80 and you can get all the below level 80 armor for that armor weight plus the weapons it uses stored away. Get one of each armor weight and you can have all the below level 80 gear that you use in your gear wallet. If they don’t use more than one stat set at 80 then they can have as many chars as they want and have completely free gear. No need to run dungeons, craft or buy with gold after you get set up once. The prices of mats would crash.

The price of mats is inflated because people craft many gears for their other toons.

Mats have value because they are used to craft gear for other toons. Looks like you think an economy where mats are vendored because they aren’t worth selling on the trading post is a good idea.

I appreciate your example, however it doesn’t really answer my question. An answer would be a “Yes” or a “No”.

As it stands right now, it appears that you want to be able to craft or acquire an item one time, and then have that item able to be replicated as many times as you desire, without having to craft another one.

I disagree with that proposal, simply for the fact that it would destroy that portion of the economy. Perhaps you don’t care about that, or that is your intent, perhaps something you should consider.
