How many times have you been on a zerg fight or just a regular fight and cannot find the kitten cursor because of all the fancy animations and bling-bling animations and brightly things going on on the screen?
You move and move the mouse just to see if you can locate it on the screen but you fail to locate it?
Anyone hate this?
Side note:
Also add an option where we can disable all the skill description when you put the mouse on top of the skills. It is annoying that they pop up like spam on a web browser.
It was bad enough during raids in WoW, but twice as bad in GW2, the kitten arrow vanishes no matter how much you wiggle it, it is so hard to locate it !!!
On Windows, there is a mouse option that you can turn on that will make a visible circle appear around your cursor when you press ctrl. Works while in GW2 as well.
OMG this so much. I lose my mouse so often and having to press 78 and 9 when pvping is hard enough but when your mouse pointer gets lost in the fight and you cant even click them is frustrating. And i dont have a gaming keyboard or mouse so cant hotkey to anything.

Really this is more than just a visibility issue, and one I have noticed since launch. True it does happen more often in large fights but what I have noticed happening is the mouse cursor literally disappearing. Usually when this happens I try to turn to a un-active area of screen and spin the mouse in a circle until the cursor re appears. I thought I was crazy at first but several friends have had the same happen. Rather silly this still occurs after all this time.
oohh, i thought it’s only happen to me… during zerging, like in guild mission and world boss, when i move my pointer to some option and the zerg blinding light hide my pointer
Man, bunch of whiners in this thread, l2findcursor.
JK I lose my cursor all the time, I agree with OP, I’ve lost some PvP scuffles because I couldn’t find my cursor to select the target I wanted to attack. Mostly against mesmers.
As a multi-screen user running in windowed mode, I lose the cursor WAY too often. The arrow should be resizable, dyeable, and maybe having other effects like pulsating, glowing, or anything we can choose to add visibility.
For Pop ups, too true on how annoying they can be.
Would just like to add my name on the list. It happens to me more than I’d like. Sometimes it takes a few seconds of moving my mouse around for it to “appear” (for me to see it). A few seconds in a fight can be critical.
Ya know, I’m surprised more people aren’t advocating for this. The mouse is actually really badly colored. Brown is a color that eyes do not see well against the majority of things of the game (variants of brown and green). In addition seeing disabilities should also be addressed. I have a minor eye sight issue and lose the thing CONSTANTLY I can’t imagine how difficult it might be for others. Anet you should really look into adding the ability to change the pointer to what ever color you want.

I’m not a designer so I can’t speak as to why or why not the mouse cursor is as it is, but this tip just saved me. Thank you, Olba!!
Can you also give us a particle slider prehaps? Sometimes I cant even seem my character.. its not cool to see only a ball of light in combat

I’m going to try that Windows mouse option trick. I lose the cursor a lot, pretty sure it’s fully disappeared. Usually I have to sweep right repeatedly to get it onto my other monitor, then back to the action. The Ctrl thing might save a lot of time!
Meanwhile another possibility is to tap a ground target hotkey to make the green/red target field show up, if it will in the effects haze.
I use a Logitech G600. If I use G-shift, it unlocks my cursor. Of course this means I try to turn but my cursor is off the screen and I can’t find the little rascal!
Will try the mouse option, whenever I choose to play GW2 again. Cheers, Olba!

Not working in game for me. No idea why.
My posts are facts as I know them, or my own opinion, and do not represent any guild.
@Herr der Friedhoefe.2490, you have to play in window mode or windowed fullscreen for it to be visible in game as Olba said.
Im using this option for some time now but would love to get more visible arrow in game, something that will still look good with rest UI, maybe just some animation that would appear on it from time to time – like lightning going through it or other visible effect.
On the second thought there is a lot of effects while fighting in zerg so it would not be visible anyway…
Just took a look at this tool YoloMouse, probably try it…. despite the name.
Hey ANet, not meant ad hominem, but it’s a sort of evidence of incapacity if there is 3rd party software to overcome such a simple GUI flaw.
Oh, just while we’re at it, my pet project; let’s get the target frame out of the perfect place to block boss animation, ground targeting and distant zergs, please. ^^
+1 to this, Tera actually has a decent solution to this, when you move the mouse it leaves behind kind of a blurry trail, which makes it incredibly easy to locate (outside of combat mode). So I am wondering if that kind of thing could work for GW2 as well, I would rather NOT make the cursor giant or anything :S

This.. is… AWESOME!!!! The default cursor isn’t the prettiest, but it’s a darn sight more visible
And you can put in your own cursors too if you like.
I second that!
Thank you for linking this app, Plok!
I have thousands of custom animated cursors that I love and now I can finally put them to use in GW2 to replace the one we’ve been stuck with for so long.

It doesn’t work in fullscreen mode, you need to choose Windowed Fullscreen.
Well, unless you guys figure another way around until ANet makes changes to the cursor, my only way of locating it when I can’t see it, is selecting a ground-targeting spell and just move my mouse around until I can see the AoE circle properly, then just press ESC and it’s all good.

+1 to this pointer issue getting resolved in the next QoL update.
FWIW, I don’t think it’s the particle effects and explosions that are hiding the cursor. I think it just straight up disappears and then reappears randomly in other parts of the screen. Too many times have I accidentally prompted the vote kick on a party member when I was just looking for my mouse and right clicking to move the camera while fighting.
