Is it possible to make pictures open in popup window for images, or simply new tab?

If you want to open an image in a new tab just right click and say “open in new tab” or command+click (or whatever the windows equivalent of that command is)

Or click on it with middle mouse button ( wheel)

Or drag picture to new tab… I know the ways, but i find
