I am surprised no one gave his opinion about this matter.
But anyway, thanks Paulie for giving credit to my idea by not being able to put any single argument to contradict my suggestion.
One big issue with block = reveal… Guardian Aegis. They would be hugely OP here.
Well I disagree, you can pop out the aegis before going stealth, this would just need a few more setup which wouldn’t be a bad idea.
And this is not OP this is a counter to it (which as i explained could be countered too) just as there should be to any playstyle.
Most classes are not given a chance to retry if they miss, and you should reward active defense. So if the thief misses the backstab because he was too far, then don’t reveal. But if he misses because of a blind/aegis, it is HIS fault (he can see that he has a blind or the enemy has a block) and should be revealed for that.
You should allow and value counterplay.
Players already get the chance to prevent the thief from stealthing in the first place (other than vs. blinding powder). Failing that you have ways of mitigating or punishing the stealth attack. You’re asking for an additional super ezmode counter. Doesn’t seem very fair or balanced to me.
