[suggestion] combat off weapon swap
if you are playing a character with multiple weapon sets you can just press the “~” although without the shift required to actually get a “~” of course some professions only get 1 weapon set

Someone doesn’t understand what going on.
Say we have a thief that wants to quickly swap between D/D, D/P, S/P, and Sbow outside of combat. That’s where this comes in.
Sounds OP. Not sure if Anet wants to make it easy for players to swap weapons outside their current equipped weapon sets outa combat, since we’re supposed to have only 2.
Unless they finally decide to add 4 active ones to use in combat, which would be interesting. :o
It’s a ease of play/quality of life thing? Can’t affect power as currently using it, it’s just tedious going in and switching every time after combat ends. Especially after inventory getting filled with loot. That’s what I gather from post anyway.

Yes. And it’s not only for ele. Blast finisher of warhorn and longbow for warriors are nice too, tho, they hardly use them in pve, because… of reasons^ .
If you are worried about the meta changing. No, just add two error messages preventing players from using this, when “You are in an active (pvp)tournament match.” and “You are in combat.”
I think you’re looking for the wrong feature.
What we actually need is a way to use inventory items without bringing up the inventory window. Most games solve this by allowing you to place items (such as weapons!) directly on your spellbar, however GW2 does not allow this, nor have enough free slots on the pathetically small spellbar due to its “simplified” UI.
As each year passes, games get fewer and fewer buttons to press.
And with how bulky the main HUD is due to everything being lopped together into a single area (so they can waste the rest of the screen on things that people don’t pay much attention to, like tournament announcements), I don’t see them being able to make room for anything more unless they build it up vertically.
My preference would be to split the spellbar into two rows, allow the buttons to be moved around and keybinded, and inventory items slotted in.
But I’ll keep dreaming for any kind of real UI customization in this game!
I’m usually really sweet… but this an internet forum and you know how it has to be.
