i was kinda perplexed when i tried inviting someone to a group last night. i right clicked on their name but there was no such option and i had to type their name into the group icon.

That option already exists, but for some reason ocassionally doesn’t show up. Not sure why.

I’ve seen it happen before also. I was wondering if groups (not in an instance) have a group leader who has the ability to invite.

I don’t think so, because sometimes when I can’t invite, I’m not in a party at all.

you cant invite someone who is already part of a group
sometimes there is a button join group but this isnt there always as well xDD

If they have an untypeable name thanks to weird ascii code letters you can get the invite function via right clicking them in the guild or friends panels. So you could add them temporarily to friends for the purpose of inviting them to the group.

I have no idea why the function sometimes doesn’t show up on the name in chat. I know that you can’t invite if they are grouped, but I generally get the option, then a little error popup that they are already grouped when I attempt the invite.

Maybe if their status is “offline”, then you can’t invite them?

they were online, not in a group. basically, all was that was needed is an easy to use invite option, which was not there

This drove me crazy too, but then I tried this:

left-click a player in the world, then click on that little Party box at the top (or maybe even clicking on the arrow works as well), and their name will be pre-populated in the name field. You’ll be able to invite/join them.
