a few months ago i bought karma armor at the Orr temples, with melandru runes.
Yesterday i wanted to balance and change my armor stats on my character without loosing the melandru runes of the previous armor so i could use them on my new.
But that isn’t possible because i can’t salvage karma armor.
The only solution at this point would be buying new runes on the trading post, but some of those runes cost alot of money. My suggestion is to be able to salvage the upgrades from the karma armor and to safe the market from decreasing value of the runes, make the runes you salvage from karma armor accountbound or soulbound.
Any thoughts?

It’s an issue that’s been noticed and complained about since the April 15th patch hit, we’ve heard nothing from Anet about what their stance on the issue is.
I think one of the main issues is that salvaging karma/badge/token armor can be “abused” to make gold of your karma/badges/tokens. While this already happens with dungeon tokens (can salvage dungeon gear for ectos, inscriptions and runes) I don’t really know why other equipment should not be salvagable.
To avoid “abuse” of karma/badge gear salvage gold farm, arenanet could implement 1) do not add upgrade components to vendor gear, so for instance rune of melandru can’t be farmed with karma, or sigil of force can’t be farmed with Badge weapons. Instead make each ‘temple armor’ vendor sell a specific stat armor (berserker, knight etc etc). 2) Add small cost (~50 silver) to each armor piece (like lvl 80 Badge armor has already) just to counter most gold gain by salvaging for ectos. 3) Optional: add previously mentioned runes/sigils to karma/badge vendors so you can buy them with these tokens, but make them account bound so you can’t make a profit out of them (just like with dungeon token vendors).
Just make it salvage only the runes from Karma gear. Please? Pretty please? With sugar on top?

This, they already nerfed karma.
Yeah salvaging badge/karma gear will change the market slightly. but crafting mats getting a little cheaper aint a bad thing.
