survey: what if we have mutable weapons
This is…weird… O_o
I get the idea and I kind of like it, because it still takes the same amount of time, effort, gold etc. to aquire all weapons in the first place – but once you got them and they are fused you wouldn’t have 6 weapons taking up your inventory space with the constant fear of accidently deleting one lol
no on the different weapons types, but I’d like the changeable stats.
an option to merge multiple stat set weapons of the same tier into one, and having the option of choosing a stat set based on the weapons merged? kinda like a piece by piece legendary?
but then it would defeat the purpose of the new swap on the fly option in legendaries and make legendaries all about the skin again, this could work.
we have to do things others may qualify as “evil”.

yes, piece of by legendary, but can change all change-able variables, not just the stats.
i’m talking about skins, infusions, weapon type, sigils.
but … is the game engine capable of such a feat?
we now know, legendaries can change the stats. why not push that further?

i edited my original post, i skimmed a little on yours and missed the part about swappable weapon types. I’ll repeat myself and say no to swappable weapon types. just stats would be fine. even legendaries don’t have that option.

now … what if … legendaries … are truly legendary, and can have the ability to change … weapon type? but, they must be made mutable first.
for example, a … sunrise, legendary greatsword!
made mutable …
then … sunrise …absorbed a … ascended long bow!
the sunrise can morph into a long bow! when out of combat!
just …

again no to changing weapon types. it would pose too many problems.
like a said, combining different stat sets of the same tier.
for example, two Ascended Greatswords, one with berserker stats and the other with soldier stats. you combined them into one ascended greatsword that when right-clicked, would have the option to change stats between berserker stats or soldier stat.
a few benefits from these are
1. it would make legendaries all about the skins(as it should be)
2. get closer to legendary functionality with the stat swapping. without putting in too much effort or gold into it, with the only penalty being time gated.
Now, to get the same stat options as a Legendary you would have to create all possible stat combinations for an ascended weapon type. which would time gate it to a few months. Some would argue that one can just make a legendary and have all the stat options. Practicality speaking, one would only need around 2 or 3 stat sets for a particular weapon type, as builds also revolve around the weapon type. (As I main a guardian I’d rather have cleric stats on a mace or hammer than on a GS, for a GS i would prefer Berserker, valkyrie, soldier, and/or knights stat sets)

aye, and i think weapon type changing is beyond the game engine’s capability too.
but being able to change the weapon stats is very good already.
but, what do you think about sigils types? and infusions types?
hopefully, this concept can be made possible into all gear:
helmet shoulders chest pants gloves boost
back amulet ring ring accessory accessory
all 12 gears able to change stats!
how awesome would that be?
