I don’t remember that on the map when I did the heart, but then again that was long ago.

well a friend of mine was in party with me and she saw nothing, i logged and it was gone.
And yeah, it was just stationary, like if you had a 3d model rigged. I had my hopes up that it was part of some kitten living story concluding event. /cry

I’ve seen the “human instance boss” several times in Queensdale but if I get to close he’ll dissapear.

I"ve seen it too. My husband was standing right next to me at the time and on his screen it wasn’t there.

It’s an interesting anomaly and since then I’ve not seen it again!

WHAT?! :O i have 5 chars 100% exploration and 2 more with that area already discovered and i NEVER saw that :O is that new or was there all the time since beta?! :O

It sounds like a glitch in areas which double as zones for the starting “boss” battle you encounter.

Here’s my screenshot from seeing the starting dragon. There has to be some sort of “perfect storm” of events that has to happen for you to see it. I’ve been back there lots of times and haven’t yet seen it again. I saw it over a year ago. o.o

The second picture was when I went back later that day….nothing.

It…sounds more like a glitch than intended. Was it solid, or could you watch through it? If it is intended, that would be awesome. Another easter egg?

Oh it was very solid. I think it’s an easter egg, like the turkeys in AC …

I’ve seen this reported a couple of times since launch. My guess is its a graphics bug of some sort. Maybe like how last year after the Mad King event was over with you could see candy corn nodes on the mini map but they weren’t actually there.

What’s a human doing in a Sylvari dream?

It’s probably similar to the Claw of Jormag model you can see when you accidentally glitch through the ground in Frostgorge.

I hope it’s there when I log in, because I want a screenshot of my Sylvari riding it.

The 2 pics khani posted are VERY different. Could there be events that need to trigger in order for it to appear?

I just noticed something: isn’t that place where you wsaw the dragon the same as the one we ran in the dream? You know, the one with the bridge…

Might be an instance of the dreams that leaks in the standard world?

Yeah this is a glitch. Since that is the area where the fight takes place, I imagine what is happening is that the coding for the instanced version that takes place inside the Dream isn’t completely bulletproof and that it occasionally bleeds through.

It’s not the only place where it happens and it has been around for ages now. I recall seeing a huge ship in the top left corner of Cursed Shore that would disappear as soon as I got nearby it. That ship is of course part of an istanced PS mission in that exact spot.

Yeah, the giant elemental hands glitch in if I approach from the southwest sometimes, but it flickers out as I climb the hill towards it.

The dragon version appeared for my sister when we were questing together in Caledon on our Charr a few months back. The dragon was there for her, but not for me. It was our first time in that area for both of us and didn’t know what it was supposed to look like, so the Teamspeak chat was pretty humorous.

“Whoa! That’s awesome! :o”
“What?”
“What do you mean ‘What?!’ Are you really so jaded that this doesn’t impress you?”
“What? Grubs? What? o.O”
“Come on! There’s a huge dragon right there!”
“Huge dragon? …Where? O.O”
a moment of silence, during which I’m sure she rolled her eyes
“Actually, I think I might have stumbled across a cool glitch, come in here! xD”

She was able to walk all over the area and get a good look at it. Left the area, came back a few minutes later and it was gone. She was familiar with the Sylvari starting quest, so she quickly identified it as a phasing glitch.

It reminds me of this. That bird was visable in one of the trailers for GW2, if I recall.

I haven’t played the Sylvari story since Beta, and now I’m tremendously sad that Plant Tequatl isn’t a world boss. That’s a cool-looking model!

This is because it’s the place where the sylvari tutorial (the awakening from the dream) takes place. This is the final boss fight. Much like the elemental in Shaemoor or Issomir in Wayfarers Foothills, the boss fights take place in the starter zones.

The dream is nothing more than a fracture of Caledon Forest.

Long story short: It’s a glitch due to Caledon Forest being the base map for the dream.
