It’s the chain I beat you with until you
recognize my command!”
Ive been doing teq the last couple of days, and it struck me how almost everyone and their queen jennah mini knows how to do it now.
Does anyone know how long after Tequatle Rising it took for the players to take him down and devise a well known and working strategy? Was it a particular guild? (TTS) Or players getting together and figuring it out?
Just curious…
As far as I remember it was Desolation in eu and ttx in na that had first success. Desolation was the only server I know of in eu that had it down to a farm until megaservers came in.
I think, like all bosses, all players grew into the mechanics and acted accordingly under supervision of some commanders.
I do (and am a member of the TFT guild as well) Tequila almost every evening around 20:00 EU time. We never fail.

For us NA players, after Blackgate defeated Tequatl and then other servers started to understand the mechanics of defeating him, TTS was the organized guild of the time in setting up events on various servers (before the megaserver). Nowadays the mechanics of Tequatl are so well known that defeating him has become more of a daily occurance rather than a sense of accomplishment. Maybe one day ArenaNet may change the mechanics yet again to vary it up a bit, but I would rather them focus on Shatterer or Jormag first before changing Tequatl. Fingers crossed…

Yeah, the big problem was always getting enough people together. The second big problem was people not knowing tactics.
Mega-server fixed the numbers, and time the experience issue.
