With the HoT expansion I believe. Development did so to balance the supply and demand, as before hand there was a surplus on the Traders, hence the price was too cheap in their eyes.

Actually, soft wood planks got stealth-changed the other way recently.

I know. That wasn’t really a stealth change as much as a “oops we accidentally released the change too soon”.

I am referring to how they over did it with softwood planks. I guess in 3 years thick leather will go back down.

Why do they solve the problem like this? You don’t amend things to cater such a dynamic economy. They should just make cloth nodes, end of.

Making nodes is amending things to cater to a dynamic economy, it’s just amending different things. There’s no “right” way to adjust supply to meet demand (or vice versa) that works for all situations. Each method has its own pros and cons.

For leather and cloth they could give 100% level appropriate droprates from ambient neutral creatures and hostile humanoids (e.g., defeat a level 50 boar and get coarse leather, defeat a level 50 bandit or nightmare court and get linen.)
