to Each their own hours played
Some of the hours on theif are by a roomate who plays when I not around and rolled herself up a thief.
Just so that you know, you broke the terms of service you accepted when installing the game.

Oh my goodness! Get the cyber-police! And the cyber-FBI just for good measure!
9,477 hours played. But you know, it’s logged in, not always playing. Chatting with the guild isn’t active playing to me.
Over 4k hours over half logged on my warrior. I’d say about 1/3rd of my time has been spent afk in town or just being an la map chat troll.

Come one, rly?
Who cares? Anyone who visit my house can play whatever game I have.
You are also not allowed to pee in bushes where I live. Some rules are meant to ignore.

Rules are never meant to be ignored. If they were, they wouldn’t be made into rules.
However, yes it’s against the ToS. And as such Anet can ban or suspend your account as they see fit. Also if your roommate decides to sell all your stuff, and use all your gold Anet cannot and will not do anything about it.
It’s the chain I beat you with until you
recognize my command!”

Ofc anet wouldn’t help you if your friend screws you over.
That’s your own responsibility.
If everyone just followed the rules instead of their moral/logic earth would be ruled by mad people. I could give you many examples of rules in todays society that is just plain wrong. But that’s a whole other discussion ^^

Sure. But it’s one thing to break the rules. It’s another thing to announce you’re doing it on the official forums which are linked to your account.
To me it’s asking for trouble.

Pretty sure they are not gonna ban the guy for just that :P
Having a person play the game at your house is also great exposure for GW2. Since that guy is likely to buy the game himself if he like what he sees. ( But seriously anet, why no demo oO? )
I’m pretty sure they made those rules to make it your own responsibility if your friend screws you over by getting banned or sell your account or whatever the reason may be.
If they didn’t do that every gold seller and hacker could just say that a friend did it.
/shrug. They don’t investigate those type of statements. They simply won’t help you if your friend does something that gets you banned or sells some of your stuff. It’s not really provable anyway unless the friend lives far enough away that it shows up as a sudden IP change.
In fairness, the OP didn’t say he allowed his roommate to do it. Just that it was a thing that happened.
Someone hacks your account they help you get it back. You didnt allow it, but it happened :P

If the account is being accessed from a different location then there would be ground for suspicion, otherwise, how can anyone tell who’s typing on the keyboard without themselves violating some law.
I don’t believe it’s enough to ban or suspend an account, however, I don’t think ArenaNet will support you either if you break the ToS.
Back to topic, I only log in if I intend to play thus my clocked time is some time over 1k hours, probably close to 2k.
Full set of 5 unique skills for both dual-wield weapon sets: P/P and D/D – Make it happen
PvE – DD/CS/AC – If that didn’t work, roll a Reaper or Revenant.
