so this topic is what you as players want in guild wars 2 this topic is formed to help dev. and Arena.net see what we as players of this game want in the game. it could be anything from charr cannon tanks to more legendarys. so try to keep the topic civlized and respectable and also list why you want what you want ingame. and who knows what will happen. so here is my top 5 things i want ingame.

1. Expansions (these are Cantha, Elona, Blood legin homeland, crystal desert map areas)
2. more Classes and more weapon set for Classes. (postal warriors anyone?)
3. more diverse commander system. (in game polish of commander)
4. Guild diversity (guild rushes bountys and treks are good need more)
5. activity roster for guilds (player X has been offline for 3 months)

why i want these

1. the game needs to grow and expand living story is nice but seems kind of a bit meh to me
2. more classes would be nice always nice to try new things, weapons well I would love to see my warrior rock with a pistol lol
3. the current commander system is more of a go to the blue direto and listen to him. there needs to be more in game tools for commander.
4. the games called Guild Wars 2 for crying out loud there should be a lot more missions for your guild to do.
5. its really hard to try to keep track of people who are inactive my guild thankfully my guild is rather small, but guilds of 400+ my god

i would of said precursor crafting as my number 5, but i would rather not touch that topic lol.

so what is the 5 things you want in this game and lets discuss why. so keep it clean and civilized lol.

1) I want to see new content; new zones, new races, etc. I’m not particularly picky as to how that content is disseminated. If it can be done via Living Story… great. If it requires expansions, so be it.

2) I’d like to see Guild Halls and expansion of your “home instance.”

3) I’d personally like assurances that the current gear and player levels will stay static (but that’s a faint hope).

I’m sure there are others, but I’m tired and can’t think of two more offhand.

1. unique weapon and armor effects not related to sigils/runes (maybe like some kind of alternate effect that replaces stats in an equally useful way?)

2. some kind of expac because god know the living world is getting dull and everyone wants something to change drastically and bring forth something worth doing

3. fixes to the personal story or some kind of alternative to or (not going to happen but screw it this thread is unrealistic and Orr can go eat a kitten, I want no part of it)

4. swimsuits that are put on when your character when they enter the water the same way aqua breathers do because swimming in heavy armor and thick elaborate robes is stupid

5. Guild Halls, I’m not really part of one and don’t really care but it’d make other people happy and maybe convince me to invest time in being a member of a guild so why not

1. A race change kit.

2. Having armour restrictions removed – let everyone wear light, medium and heavy armour.

3. The “Equipment Manager” from WoW.

4. More sPvP modes – capture the flag, death match etc.

5. Being able to use all tonics in combat, let me fight as an ooze if I want to, I don’t care if there is only 1 attack animation.

5. Bats, as either ranger pets or a new playable race.

4. Descended Gear – works just like Ascended Gear but it’s powder blue (instead of pink) and looks really cool and all you have to do to get it is never (ever) participate in any open world group activity with more than 5 players (including you) involved. If you find yourself in the midst of a large group of players and you don’t extricate yourself from this group within 15 seconds, your Descended Gear will disappear and the game will uninstall itself.

3. Mounts – warriors and guards get heavy warhorses, thieves get a swift prancing pony, and everybody else gets burrows except rangers who, due to their animal affinities are not allowed to ride anything but unicycles, which haven’t been invented yet.

*2. New elite skill (for warriors): lie on your side and spin in a circle while kicking your legs and saying ‘Woo woo woo woo!’

1) An expansion, I’d be happy if they stopped doing Living Story and focussed solely on an expansion (preferabbly a Canthan one).

1. Zerging completely shot into the sun. Any game that has zerging is kitten, especially for PvE, yeesh…

2. Stronger soft trinity or just be done with the illusion of choice, and change all gear to be either ’zerker for PvE or Knight for PvP.

3. Some type of spontaneous world PvP, this adds randomness to the world and a lot of fun. Maybe we could, I don’t know, have wars between guilds!? If random players get involved, they would get flagged to the guild they were helping for an hour or so. Any further player to attack this flagged player would join the opposite guild and so forth. This could spread like wildfire and be just amazing.

4. Have some serious discussions on class forums about balance. These forums are very hostile atm but given the right sentiment and attitude, this could work well. Players are largely reasonable and know the weaknesses of their classes much better than any internal QA could ever figure out. Find a consensus and implement it, if it doesn’t work, dial it back.

5. Mounts! Why, in 2013, does an MMO just not have freaking mounts? We love to ride them, we love to farm them and Devs love to sell them. What exactly is the problem there? You guys have a absolutely amazing art/mechanics teams, so no issues there. They couldn’t unbalance anything that I can think of if you follow the tried and true methods of knock off, snare and a good long cast time to get them out.

I can think of a million other things I would change to make this game TBC with 2012+ graphics and an amazing world, but those are the ones I think could actually be done and not throw a huge wrench into what’s already established.

1. Getting rid of servers and region locks for PvE. Keep em for WvW. But let us play with anyone, anywhere. This would include sorting out over and underflow systems.
2. Chat functions as befits a AAA game. E.g Custom chat channels, being able to see all the guild chats of all your guilds even when you’re not repping.
3. Guild last login etc etc
4. Moving away from the dodge>all mechanic
5. Far less soul and account bound items (make them the exception, not the rule)

1. Mystic forge armor. Not reskins or using it as an alternative way to get for example dungeon armor but actually new armor and a lot of it.

2. Multiple craftable ascended armor. I’m talking about cosmetics not stats.

3. Legendary armor. Again a lot of it and not 1 complete armor skin per class. Or else you’ll see everbody looking the same.

4. Armor, weapon and backpiece sets. With this I mean not just having a complete armor set but also having weapons and backpiece’s that go with it so you’ll have a full set instead of having armor, weapons and backpiece’s with skins that don’t work well with each other.

5. Dyeable weapons and backpiece’s.

1. Expansion or at least new zones, new real lore related story driven content (other Elder Dragons, hello!?)

2. New Professions and Races

3. Customizable side bars where we can put in food and other stuff for quick access. It’s annoying to open the inventory and find the item I need, especially during roaming, fighting etc.

4. Mounts, I love to get mounts in other MMOs

5. Raids. Tequatl is a good example and shows that Anet can pull it off. Please make instanced raid content for organized guilds. I think it’s kinda ridiculous that we actually have exactly 2-3 challenging ‘raid like’ bosses. There is Lupi, the Grawl Shaman and Tequatl (maybe Simin as well). While the other two are actually only for 5 people, they at least still feel ‘raid’ like. Compared to other MMOs where you have dozens of raid or at least challenging bosses this is a bit embarassing for a AAA game like Guild Wars 2 is.

1. No continent restriction (NA-EU split) – They’ve already said this is never going to happen though…

2. Templates – kitten , you had it in GW1, why didn’t it make the cut now?

3. A dungeon team that doesn’t think solving issues with dungeon paths means completely removing them and replacing it with something so bad I literally can’t find a group of friends to do it with, because they’ve all done it, and none of them want to do it again.

5. Less grindy achievements and less repetition.
4. Cities should not be safe throughout the month, there should be enemies marching towards them instead of just standing around waiting for players to be killed. Cities like Divinity’s Reach should be endangered from centaurs or Lion’s Arch getting attacked by hostile pirates like the Covington. It should not be safe to AFK in cities.
3. More intelligent AI like in Guild Wars 1 where mobs will literally chase you and make you suffer. In Guild Wars 2, monsters are like slow zombies.
2. More sneak peek of upcoming living world by just leaving them in there like what’s happening in Kessex Hills right now.
1. Lastly, I want to feel heroic and have an epic journey just like Guild Wars 1. Darker plot instead of lighthearted. I also want disclosure of stuff in GW1 like Livia’s whereabouts and I would like us to get inside the Wizard’s Tower. Living World would be better if Arena Net unveil one area of Tyria every three months and must be lore related. Enough with the Mary Sues, we already have Kormir, Trahearne, and Ceara / Scarlet Briar. And finally, where are the elder dragons they promised, Zhaitan’s encounter was underwhelming.

1. A holy trinity, because obviously Anet can’t balance without it.

2. Realistic rewards. If I want to sell my exotic greatsword and my exotic dagger, the greatsword should give me the most money because it is larger and (should) take more materials to make. Also, I hate mini’s, and Anet keeps dishing them out like they’re handing out free money. I literally wouldn’t spend 1 penny for all of the mini’s in this game.

3. Better looking armor. The armor in this game looks so terrible it almost makes me want to cry sometimes.

4. Take waypoints away in the open world (leave them in cities) and create mounts so I actually get the feeling that I am exploring instead of teleporting everywhere I go.

5. Make a Guild vs Guild. For crying out loud, this is Guild Wars and there aren’t any guild wars.

1. Guild Infrastructure
2. Guild Incentives/leaderboards for stuff that actually matters.
3. Alliance Infrastructure
4. GvG that is cross server. Has 1 or 2 dedicated days to ensure queues are met and are rated in the same glicko system of servers.
5. Guild Halls that have multiple levels so that the highest level isn’t achievable by casual guilds that are really glorified friends lists.

Not in that order specifically, but there all very important to the longevity of GW2. Casuals bring in the money because of an attachment to the community that hardcore/dedicated players create and maintain. BOTH groups need to be enabled, not one over the other.

1. more controls with the bank. why is there no ‘compact’ or ‘sort’ in the bag/bank?? Hundreds of items and absolutely 0 way of sorting them. Absolute madness. Never know where anything is, things don’t stack onto existing piles when you switch them to/from bank…

2. revamp of the party system. The person who starts the party should be the only one able to invite/kick other people. It shouldn’t matter who enters the dungeon first – if someone gets kicked then only THEY are booted from the dungeon. Get rid of needing to complete story mode to do explore, or make story mode dungeons a part of the personal storyline (essential)

3. Heavy armours are lacking in creativity. The karma exotic mask from Orr is cool but I really have a hard time finding anything I like for my Warrior.

4. Expansion. Not really sure what I’d like to see in it but new areas to explore would be great, with mobs we haven’t seen before.

5. A point to it all. As great as the game is, I feel it’s really lacking something, like a reason for any of it. It’s a dangerous line though, but I think it’s related to the lack of open world pvp, or guilds actually fighting each other for things. I’m not saying I want open world pvp, and I say it’s dangerous because I hate games where one super massive guild has a monopoly on everything, but there needs to be something worth fighting for, but it has to be done well to avoid the monopoly. Currently we pve so we can pve so we can pve and pve and pve even harder. What’s the point?

It would be great if we had more events, like in the beta where the branded were taking over or something and players had to corrupt other players by killing them. Things like that, or pvp event type things in the open world, that give unique rewards for use in the normal world.

1) Start balancing more often (4 months is too long).

2) Redesign/vastly improve PvP rewards.

3) New modes for PvP, deathmatch especially wanted.

4) In a near living story update, open up the Tengu territory AND make Tengu a playable race. In general, open more territory on the map as the months go on, want more explore-able territory!

5) Rework condition cap; in PvE it should be more for legendary and boss encounters, in PvP it should be less so people are not spamming conditions.

1. Forum people who can submit issues and complaints without “QQ I want it Nao or I /ragequit!!!”

2. Better guild tools. Not just “last online” but the ability to form alliances, sort members better, see when people joined, and separate invite/kick abilities.

3. not sure how to word this one, but a guaranteed, more than 1 in 1000000000000 chance of a specific skin item from specific bosses (in GW1, Ghials Staff was from killing Ghial, Froggie Scepter from BRG, etc.) I really don’t like the RNG lottery for skin tickets from the BL chests.

4. no more “vertical progression.” I would rather have more things to do than yet another tier of armor/weapons/etc.

5. Reasons to go to the “other” cities. Queen’s Pavilion was a good start, but it was temporary. Each major city should have a draw for everyone to go see.

1. Hardcore “progression” content, that only the most dedicated/tuned groups can do.
2. Thought and oppinion provoking storytelling that is a bit more adult oriented.
3. Recruitment within the community of a specialized pvp/pve balance team. A group of smart multiclassers that know how to look at balance from a helicopter view.
4. More community based projects and contests (like the i love my X class in Allods).
5. Some creature or location specific loot. Like finding a BiS weapon (for that level) after doing a minidungeon in a certain zone.
6. New PvP modes (tied to a contest perhaps?)
7. Gear and buildtemplates.
8. Pvp servers (they actually talked about this pre release).
9. Duelling whereever you want.

1. Better balance between direct damage and support/condition damage stats (reduce efficacy of power/crit damage – improve non-direct damage stats – fix issues with condi stacking and inability to damage environmental objects).

2. More dungeon paths like Twilight Assault (far and above better than any other dungeon in the game imo).

3. Realistic scaling of world events (80 people for an event like Tequatl is too high for many servers, especially now that the LS step is over – if it scaled down to 20 – while remaining challenging – more guilds would feel comfortable porting down there more often).

4. New guild missions and guild mission types

5. Better dispersion of “mission-critical” abilities to all professions, specifically reflect walls/bubbles and instant AOE rezzes (e.g. warrior banner rez), both of which can invalidate many fights.

1. No. More. Bikini. Armor. Armor for women that doesn’t have revealing cleavage, thighs, etc. Especially not when the male version is wholly covering.

1. 100% up-time of pets available to any decent ranger in PvE

2. Housing/Guild halls would be cool

3. More customization options for current races (the new hairs are good)

4. New weapons / current professions using more of the current weapons

5. Personal story revisited and revised, perhaps change the mission format (maybe we could spend a few missions working on that massive airship rather than saving it as a surprise element?)

5. new areas, weapons, skills… you know the things that make a real expansion
4. no RNG for gems, less RNG in general and better balanced rewards, less fluff, more quality in terms of gear aesthetics
3. client and server optimization, long overdue bug fixes

1. a return to what made GW1 great: no grind for stats, good and engaging PvP modes, rewards in PvP that are useful in PvE and vice versa, no server shards but instead a district system so you can play with your friends and not deal with the horrible overflow system…

In general: fix existing stuff first, then worry about more content and features.

1.New armor sets – both from scratch and GW1 armor brought back.
2.New areas and zones to explore – crystal desert , north of Divinity’s reach, Ring of Fire Islands.
3. UW, FOW – and other elite areas – maybe Hard Mode for dungeons if that’s not too much.
4.Guild Halls.
5.More skills – especially elite skills – For warrior there are only 2 viable options. Compare that to GW1. Now fix it please.

If here they fall they shall live on when ever you cry “For Ascalon!”

2. Add a debuff to a zerg of 40 or more within a 600 range. -33% movement speed/endurance regen
3. reduce skullcrack stun to 2 seconds
4. Reduce Siege dmg to players by 33%
5. Give rewards to players who defend towers/keeps but do not give exp/loot to players who man siege. (reward must be enough to compensate for this)

This is a l2p issue, not a class/game issue.

I would have what 4 seconds to try to run, but wait they pull out a hammer and keep me stunned or knocked down. in such a noob for not being able to get away. Please show me how to be a pro and beat a stun lock warrior with out the need for stability.

1. Guild Housing/ Customizable Player Housing

I think this would add alot to the game. Not only could accomplishments be rewarded through unique items that could be displayed through housing, but the idea of a “home” provides a strong emotional attachment to the world.

2. Dwarves

I love the dwarves from GW1. They played such a large role in that universe, it’s hard to imagine GW2 existing without them. In terms of future explorable areas, crafting of unique weapons using dwarven artifacts, and perhaps playable races, there are few possibilities that are as unlimited as the dwarven race & history provide.

3. Northern Shiverpeaks

I’m a big fan of all things Norn, so i can’t wait to explore those areas.

4. WvW exclusive skins & armor

I’d love to see some unique rewards achievable only through WvW… either through rewards based on server success or individual success, nothing would inspire me to be as involved as possible in WvW as rewards specific to those accomplishments.

5. Craftable Precursor/ Legendary Armor/ Ascended skins

It’s hard to take the idea of a legendary weapon seriously until precursors are craftable. They’re so expensive it’s just insane, and the chance of getting one is absurdly low. I actually have a good amount of the other work done, but knowing that I need to get a precursor somehow has completely ruined my motivation to work on a legendary weapon.

That being said, i can’t wait for legendary armor or new ascended skins.
