tough choice
so i made a new gw2 account as i lost my old one
a friend of mine bought me the expansion and ive been trying out the 80 boost. Frustrated i tried quite a few classes and couldnt find one i like. that was until i tried rev. It was sooo much fun but my friend informed me that they were nerfed lately so that means from what she todl me no one takes revs on raids. This makes the decision hard on me as i love rev and want to do the expac with it. but i also want to raid. could use some advice as i dont know what to do. guardian looks interesting as well but i am loving rev.
If you love the Rev, then play the Rev… because that’s what’s going to keep you logging in and playing.
Join or create a raiding guild, and become friends with those people…. friends won’t begrudge you playing the profession you wish (though they may reqeust/expect a specific build for that profession). Even if Rev is currently not the top in-demand profession, that doesn’t mean there’s no place for it.

You’re allowed moe than one toon
Use the 80 boost on a raiding toon and level a rev from scratch.

Rev was only nerfed if you used their elite spec’s F2. It’s only a loss of +17% boon duration.
You can always try more classes
Also one different class won’t automatically wipe a group numerous time unless it replaces a big role (e.g. tanks)
Do you have Ascended gear, OP? If not, you’ll probably have to wait anyway. Try all the classes first, trust me there is no one class that is played a certain way.
Each class has various weapons with different skills, so you can always try them out.
I main a rev and had the same problem until i leveled a warrior for raids. Still i’m doing vale guardian as rev.
Like some ppl said, level another class, join a raid group and try your way in as a rev.
Raids are such a small part of the game. Also raids in gw here arent the same as in other mmos, as in being a huge part of character progression (trough gear grind )
That being said you should totaly enjoy aaaaall of gw content that you enjoy playing on your revenant. By the time you finish it all the meta might change again, new raids can show up where revs are a must….
besides.. you can always make alts
