Will we be able to train our Gliding Mastery in Central Tyria maps once the update drops, or will it still remain firmly ensconced in the Heart of Maguuma?

Searches of the forums returned no results on this subject.

Each mastery line is tied to either Tyria or Maguuma so you have to train glíding in the new maps. They would have to redo the mastery line to make it trainable somewhere else.

Gliding in central tyria
Once gliding in Central Tyria is released, anyone who has completed or later completes the Basic Gliding Mastery will be able to deploy their glider in not only the Heart of Maguuma maps, but in any open-world map in Central Tyria as well

I believe their original plan was to make gliding in central Tyria a separate unlock but changed their minds so if you have it already unlocked you can use it.

This means you need to have the Heart of Thorns expansion and unlock gliding in the Maguuma Jungle maps first. It also means if you have gliding already unlocked you’ll be able to fly all over the place once the update is released.
