I just got a tri-color key from TA storymode. Do tri-color chests still exist? The wiki says no.

Nope. :\ They’ve never bothered to remove the key pieces or the completed key from the drop tables despite it steadily being reported since the chest was removed without warning.

Makes no sense to keep it forever, as it was just part of the living story season 1.
the season is ove,r so why should Anet keep the chest.
It dropped anyway mostly only bad stuff out from it and wasn’t worth the collecting of the key parts.

… I got a precursor shield (sold it and effectively wasted the money due to idiocy) and a wupwup weapon chest from it…. I miss it…

I used to snag that chest for the healthy dragonite drop it gave. I was actually happy I didn’t have to go boss-chasing to get it!

So why do key pieces still drop?

Cause Anet forgot them to remove, so simple…
Isn’t so that Anet hasn#t already forgotten to remove sometimes parts of an old update when the livign story went on..

for example those sonic blasters from the very first livign story parts when the fiery alliance with tthe dredge attacked..

It took anet a while to completely remove those thigns, They basically forgot to remove them and did it like a few months later after the corresponding LS stuff was already over xD

Maybe they’ll be tradeable to that vendor who will take old event items like the blade shards. Who is still completely absent from the game, of course.

Probably for the same reason why i sometimes get Scarlet present in drops. Someone was lazy.
