I am a ranger using lb and in zerg fights I find it hard targeting someone. When I lock onto someone and they get out of my range, I would still be targetting them instead of switching to someone close to me. This causes me to manually press someone close to me which can be hard if they are constantly moving. Is there someway to overcome this? I don’t want to keel firing rapid fire and seeing no numbers.

Zerg? Just Barrage and then take your time and TAB target around. Maybe hit F2 off the wolf and fear some people for kicks..and yes, I have an 80 Ranger I sometimes zerg with.

In the key bindings you can set a key to lock onto the current auto target when held down.

Also there is a ‘nearest target’ or something like that you can keybind in preferences.

Sorry Zone, but read his message. He locked onto a target, target moved out of range and his rapid fire whiffed up nothing, although he was still targeting that character.

And Tonszo, this is where skill comes in. If the red bar is under your rapid fire, it’s out of range. Move or switch targets- which is where my previous message comes in.

edit: My bad. I just read up on auto-attacking. Never used it since it never worked for me. Will have to try it again and get back. Wouldn’t be surprised if it didn’t work in PvP and WvW though- but dunno.

EDIT 2: IGNORE EDIT 1. Read the tool tip, turns out I’ve always had it enabled. IF YOU HAVE NOTHING TARGETED and hit a skill, it will autotarget. SO, red line under rapid shot hit ESC to clear current target and then Rapid Shot will hit something/someone if they’re in range and you’ll have a new target. But again, refeer to my original post when in a zerg.
