u enjoy being a low level more than max?
No. I have more fun being 80 on a character. All game content is open for me at 80. I also wouldn’t say its a grind to get to 80.
for me.. before 80 are a chore. after 80 gives MORE chore.. but with more fun!

as the person below you said, the process of leveling feel like a chore.
yeah there is more grinding at max level, but also more fun is open at max level as well.
I dont grind on my max level character, but I do play and just have fun doing whatever I choose to do. Not worried about gear grind, nor grind for models. Just having fun.
but while leveling, well the goal was always to get to the next level bracket so I can unlock the fun.
Unlocking the fun, wasnt the fun part. the fun part was playing the with whatever I unlocked.
simple answer.. No
I enjoy levelling a great deal, love the starter areas. There are DE to be done there and the effort put into these areas by the Devs seems more somehow.
That said, I love being lv80. (should do I have 4 already). Going anywhere, doing anything and basically having a character capable of doing what I want it to do.
Despite some areas lacking in content, Anet seem to have a fairly good balance.
Money can’t buy happiness, But it allows you to search in more places to find it !
guild wars 2 is an mmorpg. most games in this genre have a leveling system, which is usually half of them game. (the other half being the end-game.) if you don’t enjoy that half of the game, then don’t play it.
i feel like a pre-school teacher.
For me I don’t feel like the simple task of reaching max lvl opened up the fun per-say, rather once I explored the world fully things got really interesting. When you’re new it’s all exciting and…well…new. After that, the important part is that you took your time leveling and therefore thoroughly explored the world. This is important because exploration gives you the confidence that you can stand to any new challenge; example the Living Story. So in conclusion my fun level has stayed constant, and that’s impressive considering I am a 37 year old gamer who has been around the block a couple times over.
@Gibson There’s a difference though , in most MMOs when you reach level say 45 you will still have the firepower of a level 45 in a level 15 zone and 1 shot everything . Thats not the case in GW 2 your power level goes down to the level area your in .
The way I’m going to look at this question is “do you mind playing in lower level zones on your 80” and the answer to THAT question is no . In fact i kind of like it as you get more variation in your enemies and terrain .
I enjoy the journey more than the destination, so for me, being level 80 hasn’t significantly changed my playstyle. I still spend most of my time wandering about, exploring, and generally just enjoying the game as much as I can.
Yes I had more fun grinding neutral mobs for the fastest leveling. If I could grind neutral mobs for an infinite amount of levels, I would do that.
To me anything below level 80 is a grind and not fun. All equipment is outdated quickly making you constantly replace it and you can’t progress as you like in the games story unless you grind up levels after every few story missions.
Honestly, I’m unsure as to why we even needed so many levels to begin with. I really don’t see what it adds other than a sense of progression would could have been delivered well enough through exploration, mission completion, equipment, and skill unlocks.
I enjoy the lower level content more. I.e. I prefer completing zones to farming dungeons or fractals. I also like Orr less than the other maps (no hearts, annoying mobs if you just want to get from A to B… although that has been toned down now). But since lower level zones are still open to me at 80 I don’t like being 80 less than being low level myself. I like reaching 80, too, and starting work on exotics instead of buying cheap greens every few levels.
I have 100% world completion on one character and I’m still working toward it on my others because it’s still fun. It helps that I play a lot with my wife since she picked up GW2 in November, but I generally like open world gameplay and GW2 is no exception.
In WvW, I feel more comfortable with my level 80 characters. But I couldn’t play it exclusively.
I enjoy both. I enjoy the open world content available as an 80. But I don’t like Fractals, WvWvW or PvP. I don’t know if I like Dungeons, because I have yet to get into a group to play one in Story mode on any of my characters because I’d rather play than spend time looking for a group. And with a bunch of alts, I always have something I want to do on one of my characters.
I like being level 80 a whole lot more than having to level up, but it’s understandable if people see 80/full exotics as pretty much finishing the game where they don’t fell any inspiration to go any farther.
For me it’s all about keeping myself busy. There are a ton of wholly different aspects in this game, that I haven’t even begun to start. Only a couple days ago I finally finished my personal story, and I have never run an explorable dungeon path yet. It’s just something I see myself doing later.
I don’t like playing without my proper list of abilities to choose from (and traits, to a lesser extent). If levelling was just getting new gear and higher inherent stats to let me go to the next area I’d probably have at least one character of each class at 80 by now…
I like being lvl 80 but contrary to what people say it wasn’t a chore leveling to 80 the first. It was pretty enjoyable honestly, but now that I have three 80’s…yeah now it’s a chore.
I miss having a storyline to play, a new zone to explore, and a new quest to complete. Once you reach 80 its mostly group play in dungeons or DE’s in ORR. And the DE’s take a long time and the loot is very disappointing. So unless you love GW2 dungeons, the gameplay gets very limited for solo pve.
So yes, my first two 80’s had alot more fun getting there.

Equal fun. The maxed ones are free to wander anywhere, but they don’t have the storyline.
I always feel compelled to max myself out quickly – I feel like when my character is at their best, the truly fun end game begins, being able to take on the world with all of my designed strengths and flaws.
After making 3 level 80s and completing the entire map, the whole idea of leveling now seems kind of tedious to me. If I was more active about leveling I’d probably have like 3 more level 80s by now. But I just can’t get into it very well. Just my personal experience.
Depend on my mood

But you can make your storyline. Being max level is like a open world sandbox rpg. You can explore anywhere and do anything. Low levels can’t do that. There are even built in restrictions like the glacĂ© blow system to prevent low levels from playing high level events. Terrible. What happen to game shuts being for fun and the other stuff was just a side effect? Why restrict gameplay over levels?

Here it’s not half and half. Here, “the whole game is the endgame”. Or so we’ve been told.
Remember, remember, 15th of November
