Gotta love the constant undocumented changes, even though updates/patches are happening right in front of our faces.

SOMETIMES even, your patch sizes dont even correspond to your patch notes that only have one string of text for your update.

Doesn’t make any sense, why are you hiding and ghostfixing things? this is how things break.

Not only today, its been like this for a long time now, all updates have ghostfixes and undocumented changes for whatever reason aren’t documented and shown alongside the rest of the patch notes, and I cant seem to fathom why.

We even have a thread in a PvE section right now with people having to collaborate to find undocumented changes to the game build.

or when the patch is several hundred mb in size, and patch notes say : Fixed a bug within an event.

It was most likely an exploit fix, most companies don’t post about the fix. Although to us they are undocumented changes there is usually a list somewhere.

Then they should have posted at least “fixed an exploit” line, with no further explanations. Or if they don’t even want to do that, “maintenance patch” would do as well (not that anyone would believe it when it happens on Friday). Not posting anything however, when everyone could see that there was a patch, is a bad habit.

Anyone checked if can deploy golem siege on wvw? Golems was blocked due to a possible exploit, so would make sense to fix it before reset.

They have stated before that the person that writes the update notes doesn’t always know everything that gets added or taken out. Things change up until the very last minute. Also they don’t list some things because if its an exploit or not. Also Patch Notes are just there for a general overview of what was changed.

Should they be a little more transparent? Probably but at least they give us patch notes at all.

I think it must be a conspiracy. That’s the only explanation for the devs not constantly holding our hands and whispering in our ears.

No rational person could disagree. Conspiracy all the way!

The lack of communication leads to confusion and distrust since we’re being left out of what’s going on.

Undocumented changes, especially things seen as nerfs, are doing nothing good for Arenanet. Sneaking around doing things behind the backs of the players does nothing to improve player/developer trust.

They have fooled themselves into thinking they can do this without any repercussions, but in the long run the playerbase simply will not trust them enough to be loyal players.

Those of you that are saying A.net is instituting stealth patches aren’t allowing the team enough time to post the patch notes. Also, patch size has nothing do with patch notes…especially since size is NOT related to bytes but NUMBER OF FILES…which is why you can see a patch note that only lists 3 things but have a huge update…it’s specifically the number of files that needed to be included in that particular update.

One more item:

Fixed an issue that caused the warrior’s Fierce Shot skill to deal too much damage.

If there is a patch that never gets documented, there are plenty of reasons to not be clear about what was changed.

Ya’ll are talking about ANet sneaking around your backs but what reason would the company that controls everything about the game need to sneak when it comes to altering the game?

Whether it’s a nerf or a buff an exploit fix, whatever they change they’re doing to try and keep the game working well so we’ll keep playing.

They used to delay patch notes in GW1 because if it was an exploit, telling people about the exploit before the game actually forced you to restart resulted in people racing to take advantage of the exploit as much as they could before the game kicked them out.

Considering they’ve been doing this since the start of GW1 (10 years ago) how long is the long run?

No idea what they’re doing, but lately they screw up more than they fix. Like the recent stealth bugs… now affecting my ranger…
