reddit someone accidentally gained access to the wilderness of glass through Skyhammer pvp map, will soon have the Crystal Desert in the game as many would.

Map glitching is never a confirmation of anything and those screenshots don’t really show anything conclusive :/

Yeeah there’s another thread on this. Just because it’s in a PvP map, that does not guarantee anything is coming up. I’d expect something BIG coming up in August for the 1 year birthday of GW2, but really, glitching to the bottom of a PvP map doesn’t tell us anything of Anet’s goals or plans coming up.

Its a desert map, that doesn’t mean it is the Crystal Desert at all… Even on Reddit the poster conceded that he only wrote ‘Crystal Desert’ because it’s what seemed likely to him – but it isn’t likely, that stuff is there because it is meant to be there and the Crystal Desert is not the only sandy place in the GW world…

Especially if the Maguuma wastes are now all dried up. Could be a ton of sand there.

You also have to take into consideration that PvP occurs within the Mists. The locations do tend to be fragments of the past, present or future (e.g. Raid on Capricorn which is a place from the Sea of Sorrows book) – but they aren’t factual representations. We see the Jade Sea in the Fractals of the Mists dungeon – yet at this point in time the Jade Sea is theoretically a Sea once again and therefore it’s presence doesn’t indicate that we will get to see the Jade Sea in it’s old state at any point in GW2.
