After playing guild wars 2 for a year now I have a pretty good understanding of the game but one thing Ive never really understood is when is inflicting the vulnerability condition a good idea. I mean unless you can get 25 stacks of it on a single target its practically useless and you might as well focus on using damage skills rather than vulnerability but that’s just my thought on it. What are other peoples thoughts on it

In my experience, if you find a build that allows you to stack vuln quickly at the start of the fight, it definitely improves your kill speed. I use it as part of my core rotation on my zerker necro, and within a couple seconds i have 25 stacks up.

Please take your tinfoil hats off and be reasonable. ~ReginaB

Vulnerability tends to be really overpriced (in terms of its power budget) outside of a zerg focus firing down a champion or legendary mob. It’s never strictly bad perse, but you rarely want to actually invest in stacking vulnerability – you want to pick it up through basic attacks, efficient on hit traits, or incidentally off of skills where it isn’t a big chunk of the budget.

In small scale PvP or the like its main value is as a cover condition that chews up condition removal.
