Guild Wars 2

so im an old player, i quited this game like 1 year ago or so. So i wanted to play gw2 and test my new i7 6700k on this game since i know gw2 is CPU heavy, to mi disgusting surprise my download is at 4% only when I already downloaded 8gb, right now im debating if worth to download or not.

Whats the total game space? last time i had it it was 20gb now based on download % is near 400gb?

My folder is 27.2gb

Percent does not indicate data downloaded, but percent of files downloaded. A download could be 4 files, the first 3 100Kb each, and the last 20GB, and after the first 300Kb, the percent would show 75% complete.

The .dat file now sits at ~26GB, depending on language(s) chosen.

As other people have said the percentage is based on the number of files downloaded, not the amount of data.

If you watch it as it’s downloading you’ll see periods when the percentage (and the number of files) barely changes even though your download speed is good, and then other times you’ll have the same download speed and the percentage will suddenly jump up. In the first example it’s downloading one very big file and in the second it’s downloading lots of small ones (like text descriptions or inventory icons).

Which means the percentage is slightly unhelpful. I’m not quite sure why it’s included, but my other MMO does the same thing so I assume some people consider it helpful.

I think Alex just wants to know if the game is worth playing or not.

i see so its near 30gb ok thanks, so thats 20gb moore for me at 300kb/s -_-
