what else is good title besides gwamm?
I have 3 GWAMM’s from GW1, but if you want to prove your real mastery and staying power in the original game, get Champion of the Gods (50/50 Hall of Monument points).
Almost anyone who played the original game for any length of time will know by now that they’re practically GIVING away GWAMM’s. Titles are that much easier to acquire now (tonics from special events, drunk in points now not minutes, etc. not to mention the party animal consumables…). Most people acquired the academic stuff a fair while before the game became what it is now (relatively empty by comparison). Most stuff is still achieveable if you really want to get it.

Not luck and credit cards.”
This player has in numerous occasions posted about his mental health/committing suicide. ANET you really need to revoke his forum privileges and report his account to the authorities. He needs mental help and these continual forum threads show he hasn’t been getting it and this game is not helping him.
The trashing on gwamm in this thread is unbelievable. It’s like saying if someone’s wearing Ultimate Dominator, that person got it by farming eotm uplevels.
lol.wut?
GWAMM equates to grind. Theres no getting around that. The very mechanics of the title stipulate that you grinded for hundreds of hours to attain it. It’s not trashing the title at all, it’s stating exactly what it took to attain it. Grind, grind and then some more grind. Problem is most, not all, GWAMM title holders act like it’s a hierarchal sign of skill.
It’s time/goldsink. Period.
How many titles out there has 0 grind? Even Legendary Champion is grind if you put it that way. Every wvw title is also grind. Applied Jumping is grind. Probably only blazing light is not grind.

Theres quite a few but that’s tangenting.
GWAMM is symbolic in that it takes a combination of titles to attain, and the majority of those titles entail repetition of content.
I’m surprised nobody has said Twice-Told Legend.
When I see GWAMM, I just see someone who used necro heroes to do hard mode with no effort and ground a load of money for certain other titles – it’s nice to use if you have it, but it doesn’t mean anything.
It was a pretty legendary achievement even with necro heroes.
Any MMO is going to get “easier” as each individual and as the community as a whole continues to play it. You can’t expect people to do things hundreds of times over and not get better at it, or develop better builds and strategies.

Errr, no… it isn’t. Back when I played it wasn’t, it took just about every bit of in-game currency I had to get it. If it’s easier now, then fine. A bit more clarification would be great here, to avoid confusion.

Probably because people will take one look at you and think “poor grinder”.

I actually had fun making my daggers, was kinda miffed when they added the wardrobe system at the time (I love it now), but at least people know i didn’t just re-skin an offhand to look like a second incinerator.
For some, grinding is just another way to pass the time after all.

Nothing ectos can’t solve. You just buy all the armors, minipets, weapons, and done. If you have gwamm, you should have enough money to get all the other stuffs for 50/50.
GWAMM mean nothing in GW2 , I mean you work hard to get it in GW1 but you get it for free in GW2 ….irrelevant.
Like the reputation title system in GW1 i want different titles as you get higher in ranks
Been There , done that : i completed it 7 times
Legendary Collector : currently not a title , but i completed 8 times
I’m really dirty on missing Master Carver. I had four pumpkins to go but I was so unwell for the last few days of Halloween that I didn’t even turn the pc on. That’ll teach me to take my time and space things things out.
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?
Whilst I think titles can be used to track completion in GW1 I don’t agree that GWAMM, 50/50 HOM points or even both is a good sign that you’ve done everything.
IMO it’s more about specific titles, the ones tied to completing content rather than spamming consumables or buying points. For example:
- Legendary Guardian (all missions done with bonus objectives),
- Legendary Cartographer (all maps explored),
- Legendary Vanquisher (all maps vanquished),
- Master of the North (done almost all of EOTN),
- Legendary Skill Hunter (all elite skills capped),
- At least one PvP title, I never did it enough to know which ones came from what though.
It always made me feel a bit sad when someone said they had GWAMM 50/50 so they were done with GW1 and were going to stop playing when I knew they’d just done whichever titles were easiest/fastest and had actually missed a lot of content.
I agree that gwamm is too grindy and a pain to get, but at the same time its improtnat because whenever you see someone who says “did u play gw1” they are going to flash their GWAMM title and if all you have is ur hom title they are gonna say “oh, too bad :P” happens to me every single day.
If someone asks if I play GW1 I say yes and ask them what their favourite part/s are. It’s never occurred to me to switch to any of the GW1 titles and since launch I’ve never had anyone ask me to, or even ask which ones I’ve got.
I find it very hard to believe you meet new people every day who have GWAMM and expect all other GW1 players to have it/pity those who don’t. Just look at all the people in this topic who play/played GW1 and never got it.

I have serious concerns about the OP’s mental health, and I am not being snarky at all. Dude, you need to get help, and you need to stop playing GW2.

Because we can’t be angry about both?
No one seems to have noticed the new titles in the Silverwastes. My two favorites are:
The Executioner
The Annihilator
should i just quit this game cus considering i ended up in the hospital couple weeks ago cus of this game i just cant take it anymore.
Seek professional help. Seriously.
Yeah but gw2 is one of the only games i can get into atm and i dont really like many other things out side of mmos.
Gwamm just carries its weight because when you see someone in LA with GWAMM and map completion star, and glasses and commander tag, it just doesn’t get much better than that. and knowing ill never have that makes me not want to play gw2, but at the same time i dont really have anything else to play that i like.
If it makes you feel better, GWAMM wasn’t impressive even in GW1. I personally choose to display Closer to the Stars over my GWAMM title because Closer to the Stars speaks closer to me, as an avid lover of Cantha and the lore behind Weh No Su and such…it was a much better choice. Sadly that route isn’t available to those who haven’t played GW1, but there are other options…Hero of Lion’s Arch is a pretty cool title, if you ask me. A lot of people might be able to wear the title, but it’s still pretty cool. I mean…c’mon, the HERO of Lion’s Arch! Rare isn’t the same as good. Flatscreen TVs aren’t rare anymore, but they’re still better than clunkers from 20 years ago.
You need a title you can relate to. Not just a title that you think others will get a kitten over. They don’t care what title you have, you certainly shouldn’t care what title they have.
Um, you can’t get Champion of the gods without gwamm…IIRC you need 40 titles for champion of the gods and you get gwamm after 30 titles.
IMO Gwamm still sounds cooler, why be a champ, when you can be a God? – eminem
And FYI I been getting mental help for 2 years now through medication AND therapy and I am making great progress, and ANET did call the cops on me last week which is why I was in the hospital.

Keep plugging away and you’ll get there. This bit of news now puts Anet at the top of my favourite gaming companies.

gwamm requires 30 maxed titles. But champion of the stars requires like 4/10 rank from most of them. That said, I hope you don’t play GW1 solely for the title. It is a great game but if you don’t like the playstyle, stop, do something else. Just like gw2, if you don’t enjoy the content anymore, why stay? Try eso, try aa, even try wow. Don’t force yourself into something you don’t like doing. I have been wandering between gw2, bf4 and skyrim if that makes you feel better.
Heroes of Lion’s Arch is the best, a very meaningful title.
Well the GWAMM has and will always be the ultimate title for veteran players. It does indeed show-off like ’’Hey, I got 50/50 and I’m proooooo ,sucker!! #Yolo #swag #2014’’
I am still at 48/50 and still need to do all Bonus Missions on HM, (Proph, Elona, Cantha) + Vanq OR Carto title....
I’ve always wanted the GWAMM title, but kitten it’s sooo... I don’t know, boring? And it does indeed take alot of time.
I loved GW1, and back then I didn’t give a kitten about the titles and the HoM stuff, but later on I release that I should perhaps be working on my HoM since basically EVERYONE was working on it aswell.
I had 48/50 when GW2 was released and after 2 years, it’s still 48/50, lol. I really need to work on these HM missions and carto titles... -_-’
Champion of the gods – 50 titles. Feel free to throw a pear at our noses while you scurry sh*t* at the moon!
You know I’m kidding?
