Q:
what is to become of HOM?
Not having HOM myself I’m not 100% sure on this but I think HOM will still be highly useful because it gives free infinite skins without charging for the transmute. So it and the Zenith/Hellfire/Radiant stuff will let you have fancier looks for free.
You could easily say the same for karma gear vendors…
How else would we get our free pet Tabby Cat?
How else would we get our free pet Tabby Cat?
And the dead chicken
HoM have the ranger pets and the minis, so it will have utilities.
Also, IF the skins from the wardrobe require trans charges and the HoM skin keep as it is, it we’ll still need to go there.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
I would really love to make the HoM a kind of “Account Home Instance” where you could unlock services like merchant, bank, black lion tranding and so on…
HoM would be available to all players (but rewards reserved for gw1 players) and services could be unlocked via quests or activities.
We could build monuments to display our achievements like beating Tequall or Great Wurms.
Ever think it will be in the next edition of the LS or something similar? Remember that HoM was in the Northern Shiverpeaks and it could be that is where the next dragon will appear (the one that was awaken by Scarlett).
I have to say that I like Rex’s suggestion.
ok, I know I’m just waking up and all but, what is “hom”?

It’s a special place which links GW1 and GW2 accounts.

OH! ty ty… I just couldn’t figured out the abbreviation.
+1 to that, Rex. thumbs up. A shrine in the backyard.
I still use it to get cheaper waypoint fees. It still has some use, even if skins will be in wardrobe.

well to be fair lore wise that place is a deserted place, only ghosts linger there. somehow we have access to it though.
more various ghost ncps offering various services there would be really nice though.
and i think the hom skins will behave the same.
a skin for us to transmute various items. infinite times. free.
I forget where I read it, but from what I heard Hall of Monuments skins will remain free to apply and still only available from the Hall.

Na, Mordemothe is down in Magumma, near the Sylvari. Jormag is up north. Forgive my spelling, I’m running on about an hour’s sleep
If they make it so that the achievement skins and HoM skins are in the wardrobe and you have to pay to transmute them, I can imagine the servers exploding with rage.
Time is a river.
The door is ajar.
I don’t think HoM is going anywhere. However, I’d love to restore it. Perhaps as part of the push North to deal with Jormag. It was a ‘display’ feature (among many other things) in GW1, you could take your friends and show off some of your achievements. I think some would like that feature again.
There will be skins accessible from the wardrobe that will not cost charges, town clothes, gem store purchases, etc. It is quite possible you can unlock the hom skins through the wardrobe, making it almost useless afterwards. The pets will still need to be collected from there, true. It’s unfortunate they didn’t incorporate more interesting features with hom. I at least expected a statue of your characters or more services. Did they ever end up fixing that ice crown skin? Hopefully with the wardrobe changes they’ll decide to go back and give it some love.
