what kind of update do you prefer?
I’d prefer LS season 1 updates.
If they can retain the quality of Living World season 2 I would very much like a return to that, however, without those breaks of month or two in between halves. If there has to be a break there should only be one per year, in addition to obligatory wintersday/halloween break. However, they should come up with something to do for any break they have in story content.
They have more than enough potential re-usable bits and bobs of content (Labyrinthine Cliffs, Queen’s Pavilion, SAB etc.), just make sure they are in such a shape that they are trivial to put in and take out.
I didn’t mind how HoT turned out but I was and is against expansion pack over all. I rather have LS2 content and a few extra small LS1 content to make the world more alive (I really miss that). What bothers me the most with the expansion thing is that there is almost no new content between expansions and that is horrible. With HoT we have almost had no new content so my fears where pretty much true.
So answer: Short stable bi-weekly updates with content.

Any update to any content that will not go downhill from months to come is good enough for me. Right now for me is ‘ughh’
I don’t rush through content, so tend to favor the big updates that I can tackle at my own pace. Smaller updates would be fine so long as they can be accomplished at any time.
Ultimately, I would like to see large expansion updates with new lands to explore, new class(es), new skills/specializations, new mechanics, new shinies. I’m not opposed to new races. Then in between those large updates, do festivals and smaller upgrades. Festival this month, update the next, etc.
I prefer focusing chunks of content at once. So, if there were frequent small updates, I’d save them up and then devote time specifically to them.
Problem is, I don’t like being part of a content zerg… so if they were larger infrequent updates, I’d still put them off to do for a time.
I’m kittened every which way, lol.

P.S. Either way if I run out of stuff to do, I move on to other games for a time… I feel it’s silly to log in and be bored whether it be for short stints of regular time (due to frequent brief updates) or long stints of regular intervals (due to larger infrequent updates).
If they were able to run the “Festivals” on a regular and expanded schedule, and fix most of their bugs, I think a lot of the casual players would be more accepting of whatever kind of updates they decide to do.
Well if you mean things that get me the most excited … bug fixes and skill balance. :/
Maybe new skills.
My choice of trait should not ever come down choosing the one that sucks the least. >_<
As long as it’s permanent, so I can do it at my own pace I don’t mind how frequently it’s released.
But then I’m in a different situation to most of the people on this forum because I can’t devote a lot of time to the game and when I am playing I like to take my time with things so I don’t tend to burn through content faster than it can be created.
I’ve still got lots of LS2 achievements, loads of HoT stuff and even stuff from the base game that I’ve not done yet so both long breaks between expansions and short breaks between short bits of content are fine with me. I’ll always have something I can be doing while I wait.

- Gwen Outfit and some sorta ugly male substitute afterthought added to the gemstore for 700 gems. Subsequent Afterthoughts will be added fortnightly. also Trenchcoats for everyone.
LS1 was exciting, but it was a blistering pace for players and developers, so I don’t mind it getting scaled back. I’m hoping to see more of a balanced approach between LS3 and expansion 2, so that we don’t get the year-long gap that we got between LS2 and HoT. It sounds like they’ve gotten developers arranged in a more balanced way now, for exactly that reason, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
Generally, I want to see both types of updates. I like Living Story updates a lot, but I also want occasional large, expansion-style updates like HoT, which does things that seem too large for a Living Story installment.
Deppends how the state the game is, if game has alot of amazing core mechanics and poor content options, well that is obvious, but here on gw2 it lacks both, they did the mistake of not envolving the game but adding gimmicks and that is not worth it coding at long run because it will make stuff harder from the developer side if needs to be changed.
One thing that i loved whas the drop for the new persecursors, game needs ALOT of atention in some major areas, where it needs a bit of quality design change, and more indept mechanics on others, that made me in track of the game again and wait for what changes are comming, skeptical but waitting.
I prefer design/mechanics improvement updates, that will lead to more different content than random content based on some forced gimmicks.
I’d prefer LS season 1 updates.
As would I.
I like small frequent updates. Where the world is slowly expanding and growing and I can take it in at a steady pace. It works better than HUGE drop of an expac, which players tend to binge play on…then a drought spell where everyone is grumpy/bored….with that cycle being on wash/rinse/repeat.
Cumulative and replayable small frequent updates with big surprises once a year.
that it makes every other class in the game boring to play.”

You must really enjoy grind..
I’d like revamped content or gameplay bi-monthly released. Or at least that is what I think right now.

LS1 was fun. But I’d rather content be permanent.

I’d prefer LS season 1 updates.
+1 to this. And also a new map every now and then.
