We have all been waiting patiently but does anybody know when the hell this thing is actually gonna kick off if at all? i mean honestly im getting tired of seeing new lvl 80s pop 4 random yellows and pull a friken 600 gold item out of their kitten . Anet you said you would be rewarding skill. How is that skill? I have wasted so much time effort and money to get a precursor while new level 80s who dont even have 10 gold to their name get one out of sheer luck..

I’ve ran about 300+ fractals, 50 or so dragon kills, and about the same amount of dungeon runs and the best item I have ever gotten was an exotic that sold for 4gold. You aren’t exactly alone lol. As long as legendaries share the same stats as exotics I could care less. I have a feeling alot of people just bought them with real money, the amount of grind to get them is astronomical, someone in my old guild did the math once and came up if he spent the same amount of time working at a minimum wage job flipping burgers for the same amount of time he spent farming his legendary he would have 7k dollars lol.

They plan to have a precursor scavanger hunt; however, as of the last time it was mentioned they are not currently working on one.

I expect that it will not occur until the fall at the earliest.

My personal recommendation is to give up on legendaries or other fancy skins. You will be much happier in the long run.

The kind of player that doesn’t whine about the way the game is set up. I don’t pay for rewards. I’m also the kind of player that understands what the word random means. I’m the kind of player that does not throw tantrums when someone has a skin that I do not. I’m the kind that doesn’t think everything should be available to everyone because it is good for people to be different. I also am the kind that realizes that the game is there to make it’s company money not to go broke giving everyone everything they want for free.

I’ve been playing the game since release and the other day, for the first time, I decided to try dumping yellow GS’s into the forge. I threw in 12 yellows and got Dusk.

I know how the scavenger hunt is going to work. It will be more or less like:

“We are proud to announce the new scavenger hunt for precursors, introducing fun and creative ways to get those weapons! Players will have to go across all of Tyria to find the requirements for a super secret Mystic Forge recipe!”

The Mystic Forge recipe itself will be:

1. A Corrupted weapon. The weapon type will define which precursor will be earned (the shortbow gives the precursor for The Dreamer, for example). The greatsword recipe will have a 33% chance of giving Dust, 33% chance of giving Dawn and a 33% chance of giving a Wooden Sword (masterwork).

2. The Gift of Farming. This one has four components:

• 250 Charged Lodestones
• 250 Charged Lodestones
• 250 Globs of Ectoplasm
• 250 Obsidian Shards

3. The Gift of Grinding. This one also has four components:

• 250 Shards of Crystallized Mists Essence
• The Gift of Ice
• The Gift of Fire
• The Gift of Earth

(Each elemental gift requires 4 dungeon Archgifts. Those are acquired by combining four stacks of 250 dungeon tokens of each dungeon. The Gift of Fire, for example, requires 1.000 tokens from Citadel of Flame, 1.000 tokens from Crucible of Eternity, 1.000 tokens from Sorrow’s Embrace and 1.000 tokens from The Ruined City of Arah.)

4. A Gift of Mastery (same as the one required for a Legendary).

I can’t wait.

Really? I don’t think so. It is the same people complaining over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over.

Of course maybe if we have 10 time more of those threads, the complainers will finally get over it or go away.

Same people? Nope? Lots of folks don’t like the RNG. Even some of the more hardcore avid “supporters” of the game and Anet have voiced their dislike. I don’t know of a single person in my guild that doesn’t hate it. As far as the treads….keep them coming!

This is pretty much exactly what will happen, they have already alluded to it being an approach like this, so I am unsure as to why people are looking forward to it.

It will probably be as bad as the legendary grind itself, and you could more than likely grind out the gold to buy a pre quicker than do whatever grind they create for it.

You lucky kitten been playing since pre launch 1,5k hours

And yet i havent seen an EXOTIC item worth more than 1gold drop for me

LOL, at the RNG. I dont believe RNG is attached to some. played for 1900 hrs and only 1 drop worth more than 15g. Where there are people just waiting for certain things to happen and will sell items they have horded. Sadly my luck blows so the RNG seems to affect me alot. though its prolly just my mind playing tricks, but still would be nice to carry something more valuable then something i can make.
