which city do you like better hoelbrak/divinity reach?
Div Reach is way better, and organized.
Hoelbrak meh, not enough mead halls.
Cant even drink mead there
There’s cities besides Lion’s Arch? I do kind of remember going into one for a quest or something… and a few map clears… but it’s all kind of a blur
Style-wise it has to be Divinity’s . As much as i like Holbrak Divinity’s reach has it beat by a mile on style
I love Divinity’s Reach. I usually log out there.
I don’t like the Norns side much beside Wayfarrer Foothill so my vote goes to Divinity Reach.
I like HB because it’s a fun, almost ’resort’ style area. Lots of boakittenl norn who love drink.
Not to mention KEG BRAWL! So much fun xD
However, I prefer Divinity’s Reach. I know it inside an out now. I always hang out on hard to reach roof tops, and get into places that are a tad difficult. Not to mention there’s always people hanging around!
Oh.. and having the BLTP 5 feet away from the bank is awesome too <_<

Well, I like how DR looks vs other cities, even though all of the cities are cool.
For me it comes down to conveniece of services since I craft a lot. Or use TP a lot and want it near the bank.
Rata Sum has the best arrangment of bank/tp/gbank with crafting on the same floor and nearby so you can waypoint back to the tp without loading and quickly get to crafting.
LA has a horrible distance between bank and TP along with crafting spread out over a large distance. Hoelbrak and Black Citadel are both horrible for distance between bank and TP along with inconvenient waypoint placement for either, plus too much distance to crafting stations. DR is ok – bank and TP near each other but crafting spread out on another floor.
I also don’t like LA because it’s too crowded, and thus has longer loading times even for waypointing inside town, and I’m not a big fan of WoW trade or barrens chat, which is what occurs in map chat in LA. I keep map chat disabled in many zones including LA due to the intellectual insult that is general chat.
Divinity’s Reach, hands down. While Hoelbrak is beautiful, I’m a big fan of the splashes of color and old world architecture feathered in Divinity’s Reach. It’s a place that feels immediately like someplace I want to call home.

Divinity’s Reach is probably my favorite city out of all of them. Although Lion’s Arch chat is not bad. I was waiting there for a bit last night while I was in queue for WvW and it was fun to see a bunch of other people around and we had some fun conversations in chat. But looks and style wise I do prefer Divinity’s Reach. It’s also laid out better than any other city. The other cities either are too spread out, have too much wasted space, or are just plain confusing to get around.
While Hoelbrak is much more beautiful, I have to say that Divinity’s Reach is a lot more welcoming and iconic for GW2.
Sorry for not following OP question but I Like Lions Arch what with all the booty there and all.
I like Hoelbrak’s hunting lodge feel. I’ve never been a big city girl and I’d rather hang out with a bunch of boasting hunters than gossiping nobles
Lions Arch is where I spend most of my time though, mostly because Zommoros lives there. And there are some really lovely spots if I feel like a swim.

Now thats a heck of question. I’m not sure if I can answer it. I like both for different reasons. The rebel in me loves Hoelbrak for the open frontier feeling. But the complexity of Divinity’s Reach is pretty compelling also.
I really can’t say….especially since my entire repertoire of toons are either human or Norn.

Divinity’s Reach made me ask myself, how could they afford to build this?
My like for the towns almost completely comes down to how the crafting services and trading post are organized. Because of that, I’d have to go with Divinity’s Reach out of the two. It probably takes half the time to get from the crafting areas to the TP and back. Rata Sum is my favorite overall.
I like Hoelbrak for the snow.
I like Divinity for the NPC Localizations.
Both. I love all the cities for how they capture the race’s they represent; love the Charr capital, too. It depends … when I’m in Hoelbrak I love Hoelbrak, when I’m in Divinity’s Reach … well you get the idea.
I will say, though, that Hoelbrak feels like it has more going on than DR does, what with it’s mead halls and shrines everywhere.
I’m sorry I stepped outta yer box, don’ worry, if
ya whine enough they’ll put me right back.
Hard question, I like both! Divinity’s Reach is probably my favorite though — more convenient layout for me. And it is probably because my character in the Norn area is Sylvari, but it doesn’t seem like my character feels “at home” in Hoelbrak compared to Divinity’s Reach.
