who's your favorite character?
I have too many characters that I like to pick a particular favourite, but I must say lately I’ve been liking Scratch and Snikk – the two little orphan rascals of Lion’s Arch.
Tybalt.
I sat here and really tried to think of a favorite character and couldn’t. The characters in GW2 are very bland and uninteresting…
Tybalt.
I like Tybalt, but sometimes I wish there was a choice of a different mentor for the Order storyline (and Priory, too), when I’m playing characters that don’t fit well into comedy-rich stuff happening early in the storyline in my head.
As for the favorite character… Rikkiti, of course!
Anise.
15chars.
Seiran.
The first (and probably only) time I actually liked or cared about a character in the personal story.
Owain is alright too.
A shame fun things could not simply be fun.
Tybalt. He’s too darn hilarious.
“Demmi’s been kidnapped by pirates! Cool! I mean… interesting.”
“And I have a lovely set of… apples.”
“What part of secret society do you not get?!”
And many more I’ve forgotten.

Lord Faren because he seems to be the only skimpy male NPC in the game.
Yeah I have to say Tybalt for me as well. Was my first character’s personal story so it was all brand new to me. He was very well written and the voice work was great. I really enjoy humorous characters so it was perfect for me. And, yeah….not going to do spoilers but…man, the feels. Never have I emotionally reacted to an event in a video game like that before.
Ethan Edwards.
He embodies the great strengths and flaws of the mythic American character in equal measures, simultaneously grandiose and understated.
…and inspired a Buddy Holly song too.
I like:
Tybalt
Canach
Marjory
Rox
Rytlock
Trahearne
‘would of been’ —> wrong
Choice of two. In terms of actual character it’s definitely Warmaster Forgal. He’s such a father figure and he’s really sweet (in a norn way) to your character.
Otherwise, my favourite character is Frostbite. As someone who always uses a lashtail on their ranger and thinks it’s adorable, Frostbite is just painfully cute. I’ve regularly stopped in the middle of the molten fractal to res him.
Tybalt
Forgal
Seiran
I could have save them all!!!! Yet ANET makes us run like a chicken!!! :P
I liked Forgal. Because he’s awesome and epic…and because he’s got this father-son/daughter thing going on with the Pc…I like that.
(After how much people liked him, I feel almost of bad for not having so much feels for Tybalt. he was a nice character…but I never felt close to him.)
In a weird way I also like the pale tree. I think the concept is nice and I like her design. Generally I like the design of the sylvari…but Caithe and Faolain are characters that I personally can’t understand.
Brahman and Eir…I like them mostly because of the dynamic between them and that Eir is so “Haven’t I told you that I’m a mum? Oh, seem like I forgot that…I guess it doesn’t matter, but this is my son he’s already old enough to safe the world.”
I think it makes her more “normal” that she’s not perfect the way she handles things. She’s a hero in someway, but her being one actually makes her neglect other social roles.
I like Braham, because of the German voice. He sound like he’s talking with his fridge…It sounds so relaxed and cozy. sadly I don’t know who he is.

1 Tybalt
2 Eir
3 Sieran
4 Taimi
5 Caith
Countess Anise because she’s classy and clever. She gets information with the right choice of words, not by just sneaking around or attacking someone.
Shashoo (Quaggan from racial sympathy) because she’s adorable. Foo on people who don’t agree.
Tybalt because he’s hilarious. His lighthearted comedy is refreshing when the world is falling to shambles.
Demmi Beetlestone because I just like her. When a person’s first spoken line is “Aren’t you a little sober to be a pirate?” you can’t hate them.
Honestly, I like most of the OoW named NPCs, probably since I’ve done it more than the other orders.
Tegwen.
She’s one of the few characters who can be around for your entire personal story. Carys too, but I like Tegwen better.
my own, NPC’s are so dull in this game that i can think of better lore for characters….
Season 2 Canach.
All 3 of the Order Mentors and Zojja. Outside of that noone else really stands out in a good way.
Tybalt.

TRAHEARNE FOR THE WIN! He even has it’s own Reddit section right? I love his jokes:P
My Top 10:
1 Tybalt
2 Sieran
3 Rytlock
4 Forgal
5 Taimi
6 Marjory
7 Canach
8 Zojja
9 Kasmeer
10 Braham and/or Rox
Marjory and Kasmeer.
Their interaction is a lot of fun, though I used to like it a lot more before they made it “obvious” that they’re a couple. It was always pretty obvious, so it felt a bit soap opera that they had to harp on it so much because apparently some players didn’t get it.
They’re awesome.
Since that’s first and second place taken, third is I guess Frostbite, as the pillar of the second NPC team and the only one not constantly standing in AE stuff.
Rox “Ignore the pain, move!” Who wouldn’t want a redhead like that.
Delaqua – I am not so much into the character as the actress’ voice, someone get me her number.
Opps posted on wrong thread now -_-’
Scarlet is my personal fav, cos she tried to rekt this candyplace named Tyria, and they gave her best toys in game, best story in game, and best game experience for players while her living story events had place.
Tybalt.
Of all the NPCs, he is the most relate-able, and real. Of all of the NPCs (whom we all get to know for the same amount of time), he is the only one I honestly felt for.
True story: my first play through was with the Vigil. When those gates closed behind him that first time on Claw Island I remember my reaction being, “Oh kitten , that sucks.”
My second play through was with the Order and when it came time to do that mission I distinctly remember going, “Oh nononononononono, not Tybalt…wait…I don’t want to do this mission now.” I honestly hated doing it since I knew how it would end, and his words as those doors closed hit me real hard. Whomever wrote his lines/character should be commended for succeeding so well in that way.
As for the Sylvari, I almost put my foot on her bum to kick her back through that door with a hearty “See ya, wouldn’t wanna be ya!” Sorry, she annoys me.
Granted her reaction to and the way she talks to the ogres is funny, but thats about it.

Soraya Mayhew – Thief
Melissa Koris – Engie – SF for Life!
Tybalt. He’s too darn hilarious.
“And I have a lovely set of… apples.”
I like him too, but this line made me facepalm and almost quit the story. Tybalt is a Charr, and Charr don’t have… apples. So why was he so interested in them? I don’t know what Charr find attractive on each other, but wouldn’t Tybalt talking about a human woman’s… apples be like a human male saying a Charr female has nice horns, or a nice tail? It doesn’t make sense.
Anyway, my favorites are Zoija and Caithe. Zoija because I love Felicia Day, and I love small races. Naturally, putting Felicia Day as the voice of my mentor for a long time was love at first sight.
As for Caithe… I wasn’t sure about her at first, but I started really liking her after I, um, kinda… killled her. A bit. She shows great courage and know how to get things done. I like that. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind comedy characters like Tybalt, but they can easily get boring quickly. If the jokes aren’t funny, they just get annoying quickly.

Tybalt is a subversion of everything Charr, combined with a lesser subversion of the Fool. His personality and delivery stand well enough on its own; but the fact that his dialog frequently sits just far enough outside what you’d expect a Charr to say, that’d you’d forget it he is, only to remember a moment later, results in this shifting context that keeps him interesting.
But its a delicate line. Those Apple jokes, on any other character, would had been grating after the 2nd pun. Whoever wrote his story really understood good pacing and comedic timing.
I really should go back and play PS through again. I only have one that did the whole thing, and 2 others that only went far enough to get the achievements for the Orders.
So many replies! I am happy It seems that most of you like Tybalt, he is along my top 5 characters in the gw2 franchise (admitedly I enjoy job-o-tron with my fanboyism of quirky root characters such as R2-D2 and K9).
While I guess I can understand people who don’t like him, to me he is the “simpliest mentor to follow” I only played whispers and vigil storylines, so sadly Sieran is out of my reach but some of my guildmates say she is a fun mentor.
Forgal to me is okay, his story arc like many stories ever told is a bit cliche, and I didnt really got the feeling of him warming up to me or respecting me (which imo thats his thing he starts as this grump who lost his family and warms up to us seeing us as family).
Tybalt however, is like us: a rookie, its cool hearing his excitement when he gets to be on the field with us. We can empathize because we are on the same level, a character adventuring instead of being an actual mentor (although for obvious reasons he is still a “mentor”).
I will not deny Fogal’s sacrifice was heartwarming, however, Tybalt’s imo is more heartwarming he basically tells us he was a cublicle office guy and because of us he is where is right now and saving us is worth everything.
And That’s why Tybalt is one of the best characters.
Heck to make Hero-Tron on the same pedestal (for all of you XD) as this charr the golem would have to genuinely make a heroic sacrifice……which admittedly I don’t want to happen unless we get a mini in return and proper reasons AND funeral XD
I forget his name, but the charr my norn got drunk with… “I remember that! Stupid tree…”
Also the one hero point that’s a skritt who has stolen and now wears a dredge mining suit. It is the happiest skritt, and at one point yells “I’m sexy, yes!”
Sya with Tybalt a close second.
Sieran, just so much fun to be around. While there are plenty of funny, cool and interesting characters out there – I’d say she’s the only one I’d actually want as a friend.
Genetically engineered sylvari when?
I’m not sure I have a favorite character, but I think anet has written some decent dialogue between certain pairings. I really like Taimi & Bram’s dialogue, as well as Anise and Canach’s.
- My favorite is Taimi, without any doubt. She is what I would want as a protagonist if they ever make a GW2 movie. The fact that she is an Asura, a child and yet so much more adult than the whole Rata Sum Council, her physical limitations and her frustration and solutions about it, the contrast of this with her entusiasm, her courage and her curiosity, her well detailed scientific mentality and discovery oriented spirit, that allows her even to empathize with Scarlet… She is so complete, and yet not intrusive, problematic or forced (like Trahearne). She is the best.
- Ceara/Scarlet is also an amazing antagonist (Maybe with the exception of the end, when she goes too extremely nuts). We never understand. Now is too late. That is what a real enemy does!

Now I feel bad for forgetting about Taimi.
Tybalt.
Yes! Tybalt! He said we should trust him. He’s coming back. I know it. ;_;
Caithe, Tybalt and ofc the wonderful Anise
Oh and little Taimi
Way back in GW1: Nightfall. Palawa Joko, who could turn out to be a major character again is my favorite NPC. His interactions with Zhed Shadowhoof are timeless.

I got a charr-crush on Evon Gnashblade.
He is the only NPC to write blog posts about whats going on in his part of the game.
