It’s like the Chinese dragon mini, when it first became available with activation of the two factor authorization, everyone seemed to have one. Now a lot have gone back to their favorite.

Wings were the must have status symbol. Once you do a jump puzzle, the wings get hidden and my not get unhidden when they’re done.

They look ridiculous and imo don’t fit the games theme/artstyle. It went all downhill after they started adding backpack plushies. Then the super sayian char hair and all the neon dyes. It’s like I’m not even playing guild wars 2 anymore.

Yah. In Guild Wars 1 you only had people running around headless or with flames instead of a head, or with a pumpkin head. People also ran around looking like giant candy corn monsters or various other creatures, as well as doing missions and dungeons transformed.

Too many people wearing them.

To big, no mechanic so kinda just looks ridiculaous, and just dosent fit into this game, (its not Aion), so nope, only wings I where is Light of Dwayna.

Edit: Actually surprised that so manny wear, ask and want them tbh, just bad taste or theres just a lack for backitems? Oh well, ppl like differently I guess.

Things like wings capture peoples imagination till they put them on their character, realise they look terrible on their ill fit character, then realise there’s some people running around looking ace in them, then realise a different back item looks better, then realise there’s also a load of people who also look terrible in them running around.

I love my black wings, i had literally been swapping in and out different backpack skins for a very long time on my look because no back item seemed to work. the wings work.

It is virtually exactly the same pattern that happened with the shattered dragon wings. EVERYONE was rocking them at first.

Ive spent 100 gold+ in past on items for the skin, then later realised i dont like it and changed it out :P …so much useless rare skins on my account

Poor flightless birds everywhere

I am slowly seeing more of them. I was curious for three reasons, neither of which have anything to do with ascetics.

1) When the black ones (and I think these?) were available before practically everyone was wearing them. Even though many people missed them by not logging in or checking the store that day.

2) There are always people asking for white or black wings here.

3) It is not the length of time on sale, I still see lots of dragonn minis from 2 factor identification signups.

I do agree they do not fit all characters though. On many of my characters they would look downright silly. I can only think of my human and my norn, but the human is going for an exact look (the Sya NPC). The norn is going for a more valkyrie one and is wearing blue and white. So she is the only one of my menagerie that can pull them off.

I wish I could just hide all backpieces on my screen. Especially the wings.

It is bad enough they hide my minis, letting people hide my character aesthetics aside from the typical low model solution would just be insulting in a game about character aesthetics.

Because it takes exceptional costume choices to make them work this well I guess. Many people just slap them on anything. Good work though.

Yea if someone had a totally decked out pink and lime green ranger then wings would look…. a bit off…

You’re comparing holiday skins to skins that aren’t holiday?

Old or New, It does not matter. Shiny or not it still does not matter. I played Champions Online and I re-used same old cosmetic pieces for an outfit and still made a perfect match and still do.

I think the white wings match a Guardian more, Black Wings Could match to a darker character appearance.

I still like my Holographic Wings. Don’t care it gotten even old in a few more years in the future.

Initially, I got the wings for a raven-inspired character of mine. While I did like the looks, I turned it off rather quickly because it disturbed me during my actual gameplay.

Generally speaking, every kid seems to run around with one now, but personally I think that there are very very few characters where it actually looks decent on. Most of the time, it feels totally out of place. But I’m sure that hype will pass eventually…

My guardian has black wings. They are hidden by his shield out of combat, but when he pops in, they pop out. They work great with the black armor mixup, Jormag’s Breath, and Torment Shield.

We may see a pile of people in black wings today, as they’ve been added in to the Anniversary Sale so those who missed them can pick them up any time between now and Aug 30.
