why not await for Champion Wolfmaster
????
Maybe because in Queensdale there are 3 other champs the zerg is doing during that wait time? So that would be 4 champs in the 10 minute window versus one champ every 8 minutes. And no one has THAT much inventory to do.
apart from the Queen of the forest, which happens just next the Boar, other three Champ in group evnets, I barely saw people did that, you would be lucky if you did that with more than 3 other players.

You must not be on the same maps the other people are on. Every time I go to Queensdale there is a huge crowd of people doing those four champs on an unending circuit.
Read this thread where people are talking about it.

I think the Champion Troll spawns even more quickly, over in Caledon. Yet, few do that one, either.
They just aren’t part of the Train…..

Pretty much this. The reason Boar is so popular is because there are other champions in the zone with the right event timers to spawn in a relatively neat and orderly fashion. People can just do it in a never ending champ train
By comparison, Wayfarer Foothills has only two champions that I can think of, off the top of my head, aside from Maw. Dome Champion in the northern part of the zone is the only other I can think of, and it’s at the end of a lengthy event chain that has an even lengthier reset period.
For the toast!
I think there is also the Commissar in Wayfarer, as well. But, they don’t all make for a great, or even good, train.
Wolfmaster pops up every 10-15 minutes and with a small group can be defeated within a minute. Longer with a smaller group or with a group that isn’t down leveled 80s. He is a “cheap” champ compared to the Svanir champ on the dome in terms of time needed to defeat.
Plus he spawns right next to a waypoint so if you do a map chat alert, in 30 seconds you can have quite the crowd.

I always wondered why people don’t run Ashford trains. There’s a really nice bunch of champions there.

You can blame it on Diminishing Returns. Go ahead, camp the wolfmaster for more than 4 or 5 kills and then check out how much XP and karma you get per kill.
By running the full Queensdale train you avoid DR.

I’m not sure that is always true, as I have encountered DR doing the Queensdale Champ Train. But, it is easy to circumvent by changing characters.
I’ve been playing in wayfarers since beta, the champion wolfmaster spawns every 5 minutes, not 8, 10, or 15. His icebrood wolves increase in number starting with 3. He makes a circuit half-circle path around Twinspur where he crosses the level line. He is 8, north of the town you are level 11, south of the town you are level 8. His wolves will attack Moa and ambient creatures.
There are a few people that have characters that sit there yes, but it’s by no means many. The people doing crafting usually run out and kill it as it spawns though. Due to the speed at which it respawns (minimum champion respawn time is 5 minutes) you will hit diminishing returns rather quickly if that’s all you do.
I’ve never seen enough people there to make his wolf pack turn even to veterans if that’s even possible but they do increase in number.
I’m not advocating camping him exclusively. I just hit him up when I’m in the area. Rarely, even now I see players camping for him. The only times I do him twice is when I don’t get a champ box from Maw.

Though this thread is defunct now, I felt like answering this question at least:
Almost all of the events in Ashford that are related to champions have incredibly lengthy reset periods. Some also only spawn during certain parts of their respective related meta event chain. Wasp was the only champion that was connected to a chain in Queensdale, by comparison.
It’s something in the ballpark of 30-45 minute for most of them, even longer for the Vault and Ascalon City Ruins areas.
Not to mention how often the events broke and stall – I haven’t seen the Flame Effigy in months, and I’ve only seen Siegemaster Lormar once or twice lately from getting on fresh megaserver copies where nothing is broken yet.
For the toast!

It spawns every 8 mins according to GW2 wiki, and the Bore,10mins. So I agree with you on the point overall.
Well, since they aren’t champs anymore but vets, it’s rather a moot point and no longer worth discussing as there won’t be zergs doing any of them anymore.

There weren’t any zergs coming for them even before patch (unless he happened to spawn just before/after maw). More like 2-4 people.
Don’t get why this one got nerfed.
Oh well, one less reason to be in a starter zone except for the world boss event.
Remember, remember, 15th of November
what’s the change you guys are talking about, why on earth I cannot find any announcement of the change the GW2 website?
And now he has 8 wolfs and drops T1 mats and blues/greens.
Oh well.
