I was less than 25 salvages from getting my monthly and they reset it on me. It is still the 31st of August! I am really kittening upset, I put a lot of effort into it, all for nothing.

It’s not always 31st Aug everywhere. They go by server time, not your local time, so that may be why it seems to have been reset early to you. Currently it’s 2.20 am 01/09 in UK, I don’t know how that translates to server time as I am not logged in currently.

It resets at the same time the daily timer resets. That being said, maybe it should reset the first of the month, not the last day of the month.

You are mistaken, when you wrote that, it was already the 1st of september. The server time is GMT and it always has been.

hah. on the first day of every month there’s always a post like this.

GW2 has been out for a year, have people not learned that the server follows GMT?

Also realize there’s a countdown timer until the next reset when you look at the monthlies in your hero panel. Once it’s a few days away it’s easy to see exactly how much time you have left.

Given that every month we get a thread like this, I suppose every month a number of people are surprised. Not everyone can play enough to knock the monthly out in the first few days.

Still, as mentioned above, there is a timer countdown on the tracker. And it always ends at reset on the last day. So while I am sorry you missed out on completion, at least you’ll know that reset on Sept 30 is your next deadline, and possibly spread the word to your friends to save them similar irritation next month.

If only the achievements with time limits had timers that told you to the exact second when the window of opportunity closes…

Yep, the exact time remaining, down to the second, is displayed on the in game achievements interface – just for future reference.

I hear blues are less than a silver on the TP. Same with salvagable junk like chunks of ore, scraps, or what have you.

Does it take 30 days to complete the monthly achievement? The answer is no. Can you get it done in a day? The answer is yes. If you can not find 5 hours in the 720 in a month to get the achievements done then that is your issue and not thread worthy. Every month you have ample time to get everything done. The schedule does not change. If you feel wronged because you chose to procrastinate then that is again your issue and not thread worthy.

West Coast US the daily/monthly reset at 5pm. Kind of right at the start of prime time. You know? The time when most people would log on and expect to work on such things?

dude i literally finished my monthly in two days, i logged in again in 29th august, when the last time was in july….

cant believe this kind of threads, iam amazed, what do you guys do when are in game? sit in LA and chatting in map?

We get the exact same thread every month…………………

Given that every time zone in the world is presented in the form GMT+/-X the entire world pretty much is in GMT.

It’s not “early”, as it’s been like this since the introduction of Monthly Achievements. It’s always, ALWAYS 5pm PST on the very last day of the month.
