The new wintersday shoulder piece: will it still be obtainable AFTER wintersday events are over? Or will it be locked into “Historicals” forever? Or will it be unlocked again next year?

Everyone’s saying something different and I would really like an answer on this.

It’s a collection, it’s probably meant to be done over more than one Christmas. The collection will remain. Particularly because we have trees in our home instance and can chip away at it.

Edit: If they make it so you can’t get it after Wintersday, it’s going to be a very big mistake.

I hope they don’t change it at this point! Unless they want to refund all the gold my husband sold all his ectos to get so I could get these shoulders!

I’m definitely kittened they made a HOLIDAY item this ridiculous to get, but now that I have spent all my and my husband’s gold on it, they better freaking not change it!
BTW – it would take 79 hours of bells to get enough drinks… I have to travel for the holiday and don’t have time for that, as pleasant a holiday treat as that sounds. The Jumping puzzle has about a 200 bags an hour yield if you’re good at it, but I’m horribad, so that wasn’t an option. So… I rang bells for 2000 drinks with the help of my husband and paid nearly 700 gold for the remaining 8k. I hate myself for spending gold (read giving in), but I really wanted the item and don’t have time to do it my usual way.

Yep, according to the text it’s only available during wintersday. On the other hand, Wintersday comes every year. If you can’t continue next year, people are going to be pretty mad.

Whether or not they let it continue after the event, or continue next wintersday, or not continue at all there will be people that are mad. There is no “win” in this situation with gamers.

But as someone said on another thread (very similar to mine but not exactly the same), it’s taking a huge risk with gold to ASSUME that it’s not obtainable after this wintersday. A clear answer from Gaile about the discontinuity of this item would be nice. If it’s not coming back ever, then $$ to gems to gold to drinks. If it’s coming back next Xmas, then gems to gold. If we can still get drinks from our home x-mas trees, then no gems to gold. It all depends on what Gaile and Anet says. Just need that clear confirmation tho, so there’s an accountability
