Just wondering if servers that are full will ever open back up for more people to join? I know you can play with friends on other servers but wvw is one thing we do plan to do. Now that I’ve convinced some other friends to start to play they can’t join us in wvw because fort aspenwood filled up after the xpansion launched. I’m not sure what the technical considerations to this is really.

Just curious if this was something that was being looked at or transferring is the only solution.

Thanks in advance.

Whether a server is full is based on active WvW players. To increase the cap would mean that there’s the chance for longer queues. Considering that there are other servers that are not full, I don’t see them increasing the caps anytime soon.

Yes, and no

Some time back they made server population dependent on WvW activity and not the number of accounts on a server. Since only so many people can play in WvW at one time without long queues, this means that servers are capped to max WvW activity and a bit more for queue times and can’t easily be increased without also increasing the queue times.

However they said they are changing how WvW population is decided. They haven’t given details but it sounds like all WvW players will choose one of 3 sides.

Be careful what you ask for
ANet may give it to you.

That’s what I’m thinking. They may use the lore behind the Guild Wars since there were three groups that took part in them.
