if you tag someone over the head they become a semi solid object, anyone behind them will collide with them and fall, why the hell does this exist? people are using it to kill whole groups of people behind the person they tag, or getting the tag themselves and then walking backwards for a second to make everyone else stop

I havent experienced that but what I thought you were talking about is I’ve been physically attacked by a condi necro when I entered once, right at the start. He got me down to about 25% HP before his skills locked out or whatever.

What? That sounds almost like a bug.

Maybe you have the combat supporter option on, that prevents you from running through tagged enemies. But as long as you dont click on that person the shouldnt be solid for you.

Im sorry to say, but if players in the JP apear solid to you, thats pretty anomalous, not something for anet to bother with. Just dont target them and turn the setting of combat support of. If you still collide with people its just a bug.. but you shouldnt be colliding with people normally in the first place

Yesterday an engineer managed to drop a net turret at the start before his skills locked. It burned and immobilized everyone- those who didn’t die from the immobile had too little health to make it to the midway heal point. So annoying

OP, sounds like you might have melee assist turned on. If you turn it off, do you still have that problem?

Never heard of of player characters having collision when they’ve been CTRL+T targeted before. Heck, we did it to each other a lot last year in the JP. I even did it to the botters a lot so you could see them easier when they teleport across the map, making it easier to click them to report them. It was funny when a player asked what the hell just flew past him.

As for having access to your weapon/utility skills: that was a bug last year. Sometimes when the map reset and you have several seconds to wait before you can start jumping you’d have access to all your skills for a couple seconds, and sometimes right when you first spawn in the instance.

Fixed a bug that could cause players to keep their normal skill bar during Winter Wonderland.

Perhaps the bug wasn’t quite fixed for whatever reason?

At this time I’ve only done the JP 9 times, 8 of which was during an entire match, and hadn’t noticed these issues. If I was farming the JP like last year I’d probably come across it eventually, if it is happening.

There’s something charming about rangers.

I’ve been hit with the bug where your skills are unlocked briefly a few times. It’s very noticable for me on my ranger because my pet appears and I get the pink flash effect for drawing the Dreamer. For some reason it tends to happen as I’m running across the candy cane ‘bridges’ between platforms at the start, rather than just as I enter the puzzle.

Once I accidentally attacked someone (I don’t use action camera often so sometimes I push the left mouse button to move out of habit), but I don’t think it did anything serious. We were right at the start anyway so they were still next to the healing bonfire. I apologised but I think I was more surprised than they were.

I have reported it in-game, but I’ve never been able to do it while the bug is active and I’m not sure how much help a report after the fact is.

Even if they have melee assist turned on, characters shouldn’t be solid until theyĆ© actually targetted. Even if they have the crosshair, all OP has to do is not click on that player

No, players are being targeted if someone thinks they’re hopping.
If you see someone at the start, and then suddenly at the end in a few seconds, target them. Then you can keep an eye on them to see if they’re really hopping, and then you can report them for cheating/botting/etc

This is the answer. Deactivate this option.

I haven’t noticed any effect from anything resembling what you speak of. I’ve already spent 60+ hours in here easily with 30 hours in one sitting. Just recently I had one Charr doing it to everybody screaming “SNIPED!” when people would fall. If you see people consistently doing it to others and you want to make an attempt at some kind of retribution screenshot the chat and file a complaint. Webster define harass as to annoy or bother (someone) in a constant or repeated way so this falls under the guise of a legitimate reason to report them.

No. Them targeting is their attempt to troll. They’re trying to make you fall by providing a distraction.

why would a red crosshair distract you, though? If you fail because of that, maybe jumping puzzles weren’t your thing in the first place.
Just look at the course and your own character, ignore everyone else, crosshair or not

Last time I was targetting another player and he targeted me back, just out of fun and not be the “targeted idiot” for too long time. We even did that while jumping around, so it was quite a fun challenge with him!

I did not realize this actually causes trouble for people with the combat assist option as I always have that one off.

irrelevant nonsense

You may find it hard to comprehend, but A LOT of players aren’t as good as I am at JP’s. They need their undivided attention to focus on what they’re doing to complete Winter Wonderland. When a big red cross-hair pops up over the head it blocks the view of their landing and where to progress too next. It also draws their eyes to the bright red coloring and that’s proven science….. The more casual players should not have to deal with immature children impeding the enjoyment of the Wintersday activities by trolling and harassing them as they attempt to complete their seasonal achievements.

For many people Winter Wonderland is a sharp learning curve. Learning the path well enough to be efficient can take some time; I know I spent hours on it last year before I could run with any sort of efficiency. If someone targets you unexpectedly it could be startling, you could pause or mis-jump
