Guild Wars 2

I’m excited about the permanent gathering tools being account bound finally. I’d like to get a set, but I’m not wild about the halloween themed ones currently available. Any speculation (or dare I hope, dev confirmation) on winter themed gathering tools? Or really any theme that’s not spooky/creepy, that jack in the box really freaks me out.

Ohhh! I love the Jack-in-the-box. Lol. There is a new tool in the latest data-mining thread….I don’t remember what it’s theme was, though.

Ahh, just looked it up, and it doesn’t say what the theme will be…just a new Logging Axe. It may be Wintersday-themed. Or it may not be.

I wish the old tools would return, they all had nice effects and were suitable for “Heroic” characters. The new ones are just bizare, what are Anet thinking? I don’t think many people want a clown that pops up out of plants that looks like Pennywise.

Edit: On that note, why is it that the higher level mining gear has the same look as the lower level mining gear? I’m not asking to run around with something fancy on my well-established characters, but I shouldn’t be carrying an old, rusty-looking mining pick to harvest Orichalcum from the depths of Frostgorge Sound.

I don’t know. The jack in the box scythe is by far my favorite gathering tool of all of them. It’s perfect for halloween, my favorite holiday and I put it on my charr necro. Absolutely love it.

the jack in the box is a bit slow compared to the other one. least it feels like it. However I do enjoy it, gave it to my necro along with bone pick.

That’s odd…I feel the Jack-in-the-box scythe is much faster than the regular scythes, or my Bone pick (kinda hard to compare scythe to pick to axe) or whatever the Lightning axe is called.

Though, I don’t own that flowery one, so I can’t compare to that. I did not care for that animation, at all. Nor the fiery pick one.
