world events and trolls
How do you prove that it’s not that they don’t know what they’re doing?
It is the “kessex hills people wanting events to fail, but someone comes over to complete it. Even tho they jump up and yell stop. So ban those trolls argument.”
Anet said that argument was invalid because it was part of the In game systems. I am sure dragging over a champion whatever it is to a place it is not supposed to be is too.
@pandorasbox There’s a slight difference between trying to fail (or complete) the alchemist pre-events in kessex hills and sabotaging an event that requires time and coordination like teq or the wurm
those whining in the first case, should take a step back and relax. those complaining about the second… well, let’s just say they have a bit more ground to stand on for it
Perhaps the only RP-oriented guild on the server
Main Character: Farathnor (sylvari ranger) 1 of 22
I do agree with that. I would be angry I am just imagining what Anet would say. They might not let you declare them trolls because it is part of the game system.
( tried another word. Form edited it to kittened. I would never use such a word. )

well I think for wurm it’s because people know that person another guild. Who happens like to troll my guild. I think some drama happened when someone left my current guild and went to create their own guild.
for teq, I’m not sure. some people keep pulling abno to the battery. I’m not sure if it’s on purpose.

they should fix it if the event fails you get nothing it would stop all this none sense all over the game.
“ANet. They never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity to not mess up.”
Mod “Posts created to cause unrest with unfounded claims are not allowed” lmao
I’ve been to a few events(teq/wurm) where a single troll almost made the events failed. (by luring monster to place where they shouldn’t be).
Is it a ban-able offence? and what is Anet stance on it. Like 1 single person ruining the fun of 100 people.
Record the evidence you can: time/date/screens. Videos if you can manage. Send in a ticket to ANet and let them review it. Stick to the facts and avoid hyperbole or dramatic background.
If you can show someone is repeatedly and deliberately trying to cause event failure, especially for a tricky cooperative event, ANet will take action. Sometimes, it will just be a black mark. Sometimes a warning or a suspension. Only in rare and/or egregious cases will they perma-ban the account.

The way I see it is if someone is on a ranger. Who have guild drama against my guild. On the opposite end where everyone is stacking on the wall, on a ranger. That person is most likely a troll.
And no I dont’ think it’s easy to capture the video. Most likely the only video people can capture is he is away from the wall everyone is stacking. I dont’ even think anyone know he’s around untill the very end. And most likely he have some insider on our TS giving information when to come out and shoot the wurm.
It’s like the teq thing. you really expect people on a random map to capture random people pulling abno to the battery on a video? That being said, I dont’ think it’s easy to troll teq.
But the wurm thing probably, since for my limited wurm knowledge, I think the last phase, zerg usually stack on the wall and kiting the wurm to the wall. And if some trolls just stand on the opposite end and kite the wurm to the opposite end. It’s really easy to troll people.

This is fundamentally the problem with group content. The harder the group content the more individuals have the capacity of ruining it all. In the case of instanced group content you can kick someone. But it seems ANet has settled to allow a wider margin for individual failure in their open world group content (i.e. it’s not that hard overall).

Of course I don’t expect this. I understood you to say it wasn’t random, that a specific person (or small group) was deliberately trolling a specific guild.
Based on your posts on other topics, I would tend to trust your instincts: you noticed something troubling about the behavior of specific people at specific events. And would like to know what, if anything, can be done.
My recommendation remains the same: provide documentation to ANet that will trigger an investigation. It isn’t your job to prove there’s an issue; it’s theirs. Your task is to make it easy for them to decide those actions warrant a closer look.
Good luck.

That would make actual trolls do it more.
Zarin Mistcloak(THF) Valkyrie Mistblade(WAR) Kossori Mistwalker(REV) Durendal Mistward(GRD)
I used to think (build op, pls nerf) like you, but then I took a nerf to the knee.

Then it would be easier to report and for anet to take action instead of this “play your way”which rewards players with sometimes better rewards if the events fails and its why players do this.
