your favourite/"best" rune?
As always: pvp or pve?
Scholar and strength. Need to kill things fast.
Rune of the Defender.
I have too much love towards it
As always: pvp or pve?
whatever you want, it can be both
PvE: Scholar
PvP: Hoelbrak
speed. i like mobility.
Archeage = Farmville with PK
Rune of the pack is my favorite. Increased swiftness duration, high power and precision, and an AOE swiftness, fury, and might buff when you get hit.
If it wasn’t for the perma-swiftness that engis can already have, traveler would be my next favorite though because of the mobility. :P
Rune of the Madking
Entangle on 5 targets and http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Hunter%27s_Call on 3 targets
depends on prof so..
but on my war, ogre, high damage with a chance of getting a rock dog to increase dps.
Pve: Traveler’s
I love jumping puzzles and the constant 25% is nice to not have to rehaste all the time. Also playing as Mesmer main given the current speed options of the class, perma 25% runspeed is very nice.
Added bonus of easier repositioning in fights. An attack you can run out of means an attack you don’t have to dodge. That coupled with mesmers over the top immunity skills is very nice.
Pvp: depends entirely on what I play/try
PvE: Scholar
PvP: Hoelbrak
Rune of Superior Vigor. Everyone must have one.
edit: Probably Traveler’s.
Scholar and strength. Need to kill things fast.
Traveler – mobility, boon bonus, stats
In PvE any of the more expensive runes works….because PvE is just a zergfest. WvW also.
PvP is literally the only place runes actually mater.
For wandering PvE solo on my condi characters Adventurer. Stuff just melts.
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?

Good for both pve and wvw. Lets me free up a utility slot that otherwise I’m stuck using a signet of shadows for mobility. My engi has no sustained mobility, which means keeping up with any “zerg” can be a problem at times, and gives me better choices on my utility slots by dumping bursts. GW2 is about mobility, if you are left behind you lose out. It makes a huge difference if you don’t want to get there 10 seconds late, or get wiped while wishing you had something more useful on that utility slot.
Best, for me = cheap yet effective.
I’m liking my Runes of Air. I remember they used to be real expensive and tried collecting a set for one of my characters long ago (only got 3). Decided to try them on a new build for my Ranger and the mofos are only a few silver! They used to be a couple gold a year or so ago.

I have them on a warrior and they work really well. Love the speed and the beat downs.

for Speedruns: Scholar
for PvE dungeons and Condition/Power hybrids focussing DPS: Strength
for General use : Pack
for Healing builds: dwayna or monk
for Condition/Power based hybrids with focus on conditions & might: Aristocrat
for Condition builds: Krait or Undead
for Confusion Condition builds: Perplexity
for Celestial builds: Divinity
for WVW power builds: Hoelbrak
for shout builds : Trooper
That’s about it…
Been There, Done That & Will do it again…except maybe world completion.
