After you get the Mad Memoires book there is a hint at the bottom. Can this be started today or is this part of the Second Act and we cant do it yet? Does anyone know? Has anyone solved it?

People are saying that more will come with the Second Act, but I’m not sure. I tried scoping out some places that fit the description, however, and found nothing.

Does anyone know anything for sure?

Yeah i have been looking but to no avail. My leads are starting to run dry.

my question is how do people manage to find readings pointing to things to come and stuff in random (or reasonable) places, are people just going trial and error all over the maps or stumbling over it during their daily activities?

I think it is trial and error but I’m not sure. I just hope they share the information.

We need a comprehensive compilation guide that is updated as we find out more xD

Im starting to think this will not be available until the next act.

Act 2 hasn’t even been unlocked yet, expect another update opening additional halloween content to continue the story.

Speaking for myself, I figured out almost every riddle on my own. Two of them are in Lion’s Arch and incredibly easy (the sewer one was hard to actually find though!). The others directly or indirectly name the exact location on the map where you need to go. It’s just a matter of exploring Kryta if you haven’t already, and if you have, just browse your map.

I knocked out the first one’s I just wanted to make sure I was not missing anything in the riddles. Since I have the memories I just don’t want to miss out on the next pages.

I have the first book (back item), but on my first character I got it on, it doesn’t show on my back. Is this a bug or? (I had the first back item from the personal story already equiped, if that makes a difference, and yes the checkbox is checked to show) Has this happened to anyone else?

I noticed that on my ranger, it does not show. But on son’s necromancer, it shows as a large grimoire strapped to the back, rather in keeping with a mage of the Darker Arts, I think. So perhaps it is designed to show differently on different classes? I hope it stays that way because a ranger or a tiny Asura with a big ol’ book on their back would look plum silly!

Sorry if this is a odd question, but did you equip it? Believe it or not it took me a little bit to figure out that I had to equip it to get it to show up.

@skullmount /shrug if @Melonamen reply doesn’t help, try going removing all your equipment and clothing (in game only please), start by equipping the book, and build up. My thoughts are that it’s possible that another piece of equipment might be interfering with the display of the book on your back. Process of elimination, basically.

I cheated and used a guide, I’m super lazy like that. I do like the book. its nic eto have something to show from the Event! and it looks nice on my back! Look forward to seeing if there will be more treasure hunts!

People on Reddit found the next location, however when you find it and activate the Suspicious spot it says that the Mad Kings energies are not strong enough yet in our realm or something like that.

So the clue on the Mad Memories is valid. Just gotta wait for Act 2

so where is the spot then?

Well let’s look at the text,

Stories yet untold despite the tower that marks a spooky site. When humans flee their home of old, where they settle cannot be told.

This seemed clear as day to me; Lion’s Arch, or the Ascalon settlement.

Lion’s Arch
Humans fled the searing to Lion’s Arch, however Lion’s Arch was buried under water. So we have the first part, ’human’s flee’ yet we’re still missing the ‘where they settle cannot be told.’

Basically the second part of the riddle is saying where ever the humans settled has to be a secret – ‘cannot be told.’ LA is no secret. I also did a few laps around LA with the Cauldron and only found a suspicious location on the diving board.

Ascalon Settlement
The humans that ‘fled’ Ascalon set up here! I was sure this was the right place, especially because of the graveyard overlooking the town looks has a tower like structure on fire – ‘tower that marks a spooky site,’ spooky site is the graveyard with all the ghosts above the settlement.

Also the settlement isn’t particularly pointed out by anyone in the game. However, the area isn’t hidden enough to be considered a ‘secret.’

I also checked with the Cauldron and came up with nothing.

So, here’s what we need to look for:
A spooky location with a tower that was involved with fleeing humans, and is kept as a secret.
