Even though I’m usually against speculation on un-released content, I thought it’d be a bit of fun if we could speculate what the six stats for a Rune of the Revenant would be. (If there is one at all!)
Here’s my guess:
1) +25 Power
2) +35 Condition Damage
3) + 50 Power
4) + 65 Condition Damage
5) +100 Power
6) Gain Fury, Swiftness & Might when swapping Legends (60 second cooldown)
Remember this is just for fun! Nothing mentioned in this thread is confirmed!
I hope you can be abit more creative here lol.
Stat bonus on 2th and 4th is boring.

I’m going off the template from the other eight “of the Profession” Runes – 25/35/50/65/100/Effect
1) +25 Power
2) +35 Condition Damage
3) + 50 Power
4) + 65 Condition Damage
5) +100 Power
6) Increase All Stats By 500%

1) +25 Ferocity
2) +35 Condition Damage
3) +50 Ferocity
4) +65 Condition Damage
5) +100 Ferocity
6) When you use an elite skill, you gain 3 seconds of protection and resistance. Cooldown: 45 seconds
A rune with a mix of offense and defense.
I wonder of Specialisations will get their own rune sets as well? Anyways:
1) +8 to all stats
2) +5% Condition Duration
3) +12 to all stats
4) + 10% Condition Duration
5) +16 to all stats
6) When using your Elite, create a small temporal rift at the location, pulling all nearby enemies in after a short delay (120 second cooldown).
Mabye 6 set bonus could be when you use an elite summon a random Legend to fight by your side for 20 sec ?
Specialisation rune sets would add some great variety.

that got nothing to do with what he said.
it’s still boring.
I imagine it would be something basic like 4pc to give you extra endurance on crit and 6pc to refund 50% of the endurance used to activate your legend.
Something this game could use is a boon/condi duration set though.
1) +1 to all stats based on the number of Revenants active in the game
2) +1 to using guides to build your Revenant
3) Rune 2 is removed and you are given +100 to creativity for use your head for a change
4) -10,000 health for using tomes of knowledge to instant level to 80
5) Instantly get removed from groups when doing CoF runs.
6) The interwebs explodes and you win the game
1.) + all stats
2.) + 10% condi duration
3.) + all stats
4.) Blocked, destroyed or reflected projectiles causes you to splash 1 bleed on yourself and nearby foes for 5sec. 1sec cd.
5.) + all stats
6.) Each time you receive a condition gain +1% crit chance for 10seconds. Stacks 25.
1-5) + all stats
6) Summon the Ghost of Snaff on down.
Having the ghost appear and start fighting means you have a better chance of rally. Why Snaff? Because Rytlock is the first Revenant, and I’d say Snaff is one of the spirits he’d look for in the mists, if only to tell him how sorry he is.
1) toughness
2) +5% energy on Invocation-swap
3) moar toughness
4) Cooldown on Invocation-swaps reduced by 3 seconds.
5) even moar toughness
6) Energy cost of elite skills reduced by 20%
Boring 6-slot is boring.
How about something cooler, like “when you use an elite skill, allies gain the effects of your legend for 3 seconds” or something.
Nothing I hate more than 6-slot bonuses that just hand out a few stats or boons.
1 + 25 Power
2 + Taunt Duration
3 + 50 Power
4. When you taunt an enemy that enemy is slowed
5 + 100 Power
6+When an enemy is taunted they are marked “Dishonorable” by there ancestor’s
The Legendary Mushu punishes them, applying 10 torment and 15 confusion
dunno what stats we’ll get on the first 5, but my guess is that the 6th bonus speeds up energy generation, or maybe something more generic so other classes can use, like gain 3 stacks of might when using a utility skill.

I will cry if Snaff isn’t one of the Legends you can channel

but snaff himself isn’t a powerful legend. he was a really smart golemancer, and all around nice guy.
he’s like the nice guy version of tony stark: remove his gadgets, and he’s just a really smart guy.

Yeah, he’s not really a good choice for one of the main legends. But I think he may help Rytlock get back from the mists, and that’s why I suggested him for slot 6.
+25 condition dmg
+10% condition duration
+50 condition dmg
+15% condition duration, +1 second slow duration
+100 condition dmg
+125 power, all movement impeding conditions cause (cripples, chill, immobilize) cause slow for 2 seconds
Might be nice… really wondering what this would cause on necro’s, rangers and warriors
Also
“Fanatic armor”: Power/toughness/condition dmg….
“Warped Armor”: Condition dmg, condition duration, healing
(edited by PaxTheGreatOne.9472)
Rune of the Mist Walker
+25 power
+10% condition Duraiton
+50 power
25% chance when struck to summon a Ghostly figure to fight by your side (60s)
+100 power
+125 condition damage
Rune of the revenant:
+25 swag
when using a heal skill, you and your target play blindfold darts. the loser is downed instantly
+50 swag
when using an elite skill, Rytlock Brimstone appears and lays down a Super Adventure Box for everyone to play in
+100 swag
when downed, you are instantly revived but now have all your gear permanently tagged with Arenanet logos. you also have ‘loser’ etched on your chestplate.
1) +25 Power
2) +35 Condition Damage
3) + 50 Power
4) + 65 Condition Damage
5) +100 Power
6) Gain Fury, Swiftness & Might when swapping Legends (60 second cooldown)
I see you are following the pattern of the other “Runes of [Profession]”, as mentioned in a later post, but that’s too similar to Rune of the Elementalist:
1) 25 Power
2) +35 Condition Damage
3) + 50 Power
4) + 65 Condition Damage
5) +100 Power
6) +20% Burning Duration/20% Chill Duration.
The thing is even with profession runes, the 6th ability is still at least remotely useable by any profession. Having it grant boons when swapping legends breaks this rule, because no one else has legends.

Good points by Test & Xenon there. Back to the drawing board for me. -.-

Really?
Rune of the Warrior (weapons swap) is useless to Engineers and Elementalists (and Revenants!).
Rune of the Engineer (Conjures and kits) is useless Rangers and Necromancers.
Rune of the Necromancer (fear) is useless to Mesmers.
Rune of the Mesmer (daze) interacts with exactly one Guardian skill (while they have Tome of Courage out…)
Rune of the Guardian (block) is useless to Necromancers.
Rune of the Elementalist (burning and chill) is kinda sorta maybe relevant to everybody (if your thief steals lava rocks a lot…not). Oh, except warriors don’t have any chills. Yeah, no joy there.
Rune of the Ranger (companions) does nothing for Warriors and Engineers.
Yes, the Rune of the Thief (positional damage) is useable by everyone .
I guess 1 out of 8 isn’t bad when declaring a pattern exists .

Heads up…Engi kit swapping and Ele switching attunements count as weapon swapping for the purposes of triggering weapon swap effects with runes/sigils. I suspect Revenants will follow likely a similar trend with their legend swapping.

Rune of the Warrior doesn’t proc on swap, it reduces weapon swap cooldown time.
1) 15 to all stats
2) 5% reduced cooldown to all skills
3) +30 to all stats
4) 10% reduced cooldown to all skills
5) You gain 80 to all stats when swapping legends
6) Your ultimate cost 20% less
If this rune came out i would buy it in a heartbeat.
1)25 power
2)5% boon duration
3)50 power
4)10% boon duration, 10% condition duration
5)+100 power
6)25% movement speed, 5% chance of creating temporal rift when attacked (90 second cd)

To be honest, maybe they should actually make them more specifically for the profession, i.e. ‘On Steal’ or ‘On Attunement Swap’ or ‘Per Illusion’ etc – maybe that way they might be slightly more popular? Who knows, could be wrong.
@Nike
Well even the ones you listed were at least useable by more than 1 profession. Maybe not every single profession, but more than just the one they are named for. My point was that if the Rev rune is based on Legend swapping, then absolutely no other profession could use it, which is unprecedented so far.

It may make you smile to know I proposed a rune that was actually added to the game that does very nearly that. Check out Rune of the Trapper .

True, though Rune of the Trapper comes very close.
I like the ideas here!
About the rule that, no rune should only be useable by only one professions could be handled in a way.
You know how Light armor when moused over says in red text “This item is not usable by your profession” or something like that, if you are a Medium or Heavy armor user
Simply make a Runeset that have the same restriction.
Example: Superior Rune of Something. “Cant be used by your profession”
If that became a possibility, we could have Runes that did something really cool than just boons and conditions. Like 6 set for warrior will be “When you use a sword skill, apply Impaled (The Sword off-hand 4 ability). Cooldown 60 (Or the actual CD of the skill) seconds.”
Rune of the Mist Walker
+25 power
+10% condition Duraiton
+50 power
25% chance when struck to summon a Ghostly figure to fight by your side (60s)
+100 power
+125 condition damage
Fairly nice although I’d suggest for part 4 and part 6:
4: 5% energy conservation ( use less energy when using skills)
6: Each Ally within 10 meters of you contributes additional energy from their “friendship of their spirit”. Your maximum energy increases by <x units> per friendly. May be overpowered in WvW.
