A Couple, "What-if" moments. *SPOILERS*

Sold. I would gladly take this idea and run with it.
Maybe tell Braham and we can go on a mission to save her where he really dies and she is rescued. Cause, as a commander I would never take that guy into combat and would love to have Eir back in his place.
Te Nosce [TC]
I could see them pulling the first one. The second one, though, goes against all we know of the Elder Dragons. Plus, Mordremoth got woken early so he didn’t have time to spread his corruption as widely as Zhaitan had (which begs the question of what exactly the difference is between a sleeping and waking Dragon if even the sleeping ones have agency in the world).
Not that the Dragons are necessarily evil in the human sense of the word, any more than a human is evil for exterminating insects in his or her home (per most humans, anyway … there are some all-life-is-sacred believers that might disagree). The insects don’t enjoy it but the humans (mostly) aren’t taking joy in their suffering, only in their removal. Bear in mind that per -original- lore/marketing, the Dragons are akin to natural forces like hurricanes or earthquakes. Scarlet triggered a growth of invasive vegetation that instinctively worked to assimilate everything, not a cackling villain. (I know, I know, the Mouth does have a very evil chuckle. Psychological warfare from the Dragon of Mind, perhaps? Meant to defend itself against would be pruners?)
Besides, I’m pretty sure ANet has established that Scarlet was the affected one.
eir adventure is also a chance to help my OCD – one less gap in the jungle, the better I’ll feel about us getting the whole map. Maybe left of DS and below AB little gap leading slightly into the ocean? Maybe we didn’t find her because mordrem remnants and their prisoners are retreating over the ocean, or a part of that giant tree had pods and it was knocked into the water – idk

I don’t think the Eir we found was a copy, if that was the case, why would the vinetooth kill her? besides the copies of Zojja an Logan were all controlled by mordremoth, forcing them to fight us (meaning all copies were mordy’s minions). Another point is that all of those copies were greenish looking, Eir was not.
Nope, I don’t think eir was a copy.

I’m not a fan of the original Eir but I do like the blighting pod idea, and it suggests the even more interesting eventuality that the real Eir died but the crew find a surviving clone who has Eir’s memories. Freed of M’s influence she’s now an individual and is trying to figure out her place in the world. She’s not the original Eir. She’s not even Norn but she feels Eir’s desires and motivations, so she joins the crew to fight the dragons and learn about her original. She can’t do beast-form anymore, but now has new abilities and has to learn to use them. Cue subplot about Braham learning to accept his mom/not-mom. Cue another subplot about Caithe becoming a mentor to the now Sylvari-Eir (Seir? Sarah..?) and finding some kind of redemption. Also potential for insights into cross-cultural differences/similarities.
Not an original idea, I know. It’s been done in various shows but I think it could work here, and it would give the team a sympathetic new character with a connection to a popular past character. Then again, if pigs flew and anet decided to actually do something like this they’d probably just kill her one episode later or reveal her to be an imposter because reasons.

Hey guys/gals, I have recently started into the HoT story for the well, more times than I would like to admit. And I was having a few, “What-if” moments.
First off, what if, Eir isn’t dead?
Now bare with me on this. You know how at the later part of the story where you need to go release Logan/Zojja from the blighting pods and how one of them would have multiple copies of each other, looking very alike?
Now what if the Eir in that prison cell wasn’t actually the real Eir but a copy, and the true Eir is off in an actual blighting pod, a pod that was next to Garms? Garm returned but had a green glow to him, maybe he escaped his Blighting pod and has returned to get help for Eir to get her back, maybe, we find her before Braham goes to confront Jormag, bring her back, and that stops him from going and potentially getting himself killed on some, fools errand?
Problem:
Mordrem are made out of plants. Even if they look almost exactly like their non-mordrem counterparts, they’re still green and barky. Mordrem Hylek, Saurians, and yes, Logan and Zojja were all green with albeit smooth but obvious plant textures for skin.
Logan and Zojja were the worst done, but I think this is more out of time restrictions or something, otherwise I’m sure they’d have been more than just Mordrem Guard Punisher / Mordrem Guard Preserver copies (respectively).
Eir, on the other hand, was very clearly not plant.
What if Mordremoth wasn’t originally evil? What if scarlets influence on him when she died and the ley-line opened up and waked him, with her essense seaping in, you know, how it looks like her, “Fluids” are leaking into the ground. What if her crazy/angry self kind of impossed itself on a slumbering Mordremoth and sort of drove him to do these things? Because I feel that the Mordrem, would have been a bigger thing if he was always evil, you know, more of them, and alot of different types?
Unfortunately we know that Mordremoth gave Scarlet visions of “death, destruction, and destiny” in Fall 1323. Three and a half years before the finale of Season 1.
Mordremoth is the one who drove Scarlet to insanity, after all.

The reason why the mordrem were so limited is because he had so little time to create a wide variety (ensuring such was why the Pact launched their fleet so early despite lack of knowledge on Mordremoth – to prevent him from making a massive army of mordrem). But even with the little time he had, he made a wide variety all the same.
Alternative Universe “What Ifs” are always interesting to consider, but aren’t these more of theories on what actually happened rather than “What Ifs”? :P
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
What if the game wasn’t a casul fest?
It would be a good game.
