3. Dead horses along the way with sticks around that you can pick up to beat them

Given how long we’ve waited while anet fiddled about with the Living World and wasted all that time and effort on non-seasonal temporary content…
1. Enough of the map opened up to double the current explorable areas of Tyria.
2. Three other new professions in addition to the Revenant, one for each armor class, each featuring new weapons (also available to various other professions).
3. At least two new playable races with new starting zones.
4. Mass quantities of missions, quests, and dungeons, multitudinous new pvp maps and varieties, wvw zones that aren’t mirror images of each other but strange, bizarre, twisted versions of tyria with desirable resources for each mirror image shard to fight over. Inspirational sources: Jade Quarry, Fort Aspenwood.
In short, less fiddling about, more MMO.
Of course, all that would be pointless if something positive and constructive and USER-FRIENDLY isn’t done to the trait system and the parts of the game Dr. Seuss’d by NPE…
This is neither here nor there
So throw your hands up in the air
And shake your Tyrian behind
To entertain the bovine mind
That would do. For now.

I have to agree with you there, I have been saving some stacks just in case they do end up doing this.

How about dragonite becomes a currency so you can trade it in for Tier 6 materials that you practically have to have a mint to be able to afford in the TP?

Lol, don’t exaggerate. Even WoW gave only one additional class after 5 years of release and two races.

How many new professions did Guild Wars give us in, say, a year and a half? How much new territory? How many new weapons? No new races, of course, but how many new cultures?

Have patience. The game isn’t 5-6 years old. Also, a race doesn’t add anything gameplay wise. It’s only lore based. That said, I would appreciate the Tengu as playable race.

This is an mmo forum, if someone isn’t whining chances are the game is dead.

Oh? Then why do politicians get paid so much?
Ahem.
I’ll tell you what I won’t do.
I won’t buy HoT the instant it’s released. I won’t pre-order, either, if that’s even an option. I’ll wait and see what’s actually delivered. I’ll read the patch notes. I’ll read the reviews, watch the inevitable playthrough videos. I’ll talk to any guildies who get it and see what they have to say about it. Then, if it seems worthwhile and worth the purchase price, and if it suits me to do so, I’ll buy it. If not, I won’t. I encourage you and everyone else here to do the same.

So now that I know more diverse roles will be coming, I’d say the only thing left to look at is progression really, can we sell some of these resources to buy things that are extremely rare like materials for example, or can we add events to the system that actually feel rewarding instead of getting useless trinkets or currencies that fill up our bank with no real purpose in PVE? that would be awesome!

Well said. Most of the features announced have been discussed on and off for two years now. And the fact that Colin stated HoT will have just three maps (overlapping) the price is put into question.
I’m going to wait and see what HoT really offers before purchasing. More should do the same.

I don’t know where you’re from but where I’m from politicians don’t get paid all that much. That’s why they’re all so corrupt.
And the fact that Colin stated HoT will have just three maps (overlapping) the price is put into question.
I kinda have to point out that we don’t know how many maps their will be, we only know that the maps will have 3 biomes. There might be 1, but there might also be 2 or 3 or 4. Mind you ANet has indicated they plan to focus on few number of more content dense maps.

Actually they have repeatedly talked about maps as plural so it seems reasonable to suspect that there will be at least 2. Most people are expecting 3 to 4.

Gw1 was a joke in terms of development cost compared to this. This is a lot more expensive to update being an actual mmo as opposed to a , more of less, Diablo based game.

Indeed. How many people worked on Guild Wars? How many people are working on GW2?
Bonus Followup: How much developmental time and effort has been wasted on GW2 creating such things as non-seasonal temporary content, or, as I like to call it, vanishware?

1. Fix necro pets ai/pathing so they no longer sit there doing nothing while you’re getting pummeled
This has nothing to do with the expansion. This is something you want for the game, not the expansion. As such this is not an update that should be tied to it.
2. A recall/attack button for necro pets, not sure if this is intentional
Just like Mesmers, Elementalists, Thieves, Humans, Sylvari, Charr and Asura, Necros are not meant to have this level of control over their pets. Only Rangers can do it as it is their class mechanic. All summons are meant to just place a body on the field that follows the summoner but otherwise acts independently.
3. The ability to save trait/equipment builds. With how much I switch between pve, pvp and WvW in a given play session it’s pretty tedious to manually swap all of this a multitude of times
I could see this being locked behind the xpack. It would be kind of a kitten move, but I could see it.

how about a way to turn account wide everything off? that might actually get me back into the game
I would like to see some things to craft and trade like agony infusion slots. Would like to at least be able to vendor some account bound items like bloodstone and dragonite ore, for example. What was that? A mount? oh yeah, running around all these up and down terrains and hillsides gets old. It’s like driving my car. I don’t want to spend large portions of my life in traffic nor do I want much of my GW2 time spend running or limping when a mob tags me. How about being able to craft a personal WP? Like, I can drop it somewhere in a zone where I am currently at so I can revisit that spot without the trek on foot. Well, can’t wait to pre-order whatever you do come out with for an xpac. For now it is just farm and hoard, farm and hoard.
1) removal / overhaul of the Engineer’s hobosack
2) a means of saving armor sets and trait builds that can easily be swapped to when out of combat.
That is all.
1. Player housing, either inside the guild hall or a more customizable home instance.
2. Crafting of items for player housing/guild halls.
3. Achievement announcement in guild option.
4. The ability to save armor/traits as others have mentioned.
5. More of Tyria unlocked to explore.
6. Mounts (same speed as swiftness so more like a collectable)
7. New dungeons.
8. Some form of raid content. (Maybe 10 man)
Not much really
1)At least one new CITY, I don’t care if it’s an overgrown ruin, or populated by some race we’ve never met before. I’d like to see some more evidence that we’re fighting for somewhere other than a largely uninhabited jungle full of monsters.
It would also provide a hub to meet friends and use services without having to waypoint all the way back to Rata sum, which is going to get awfully busy if it’s still the closest city when HoT opens.
2) Two handed axes.
3) Crossbows.
4)Persistant choices, I’d like to be able to replay the personal story and see different things along the way based on what I do with each character. Bring it all to a single ending if you must, but let it branch out in the middle at least.
5)More armour that a charr can wear without tail clipping.
6) New ranger pets.
7)Tyrannus
8)Ceratadon
9)Angorodon
10)Ferofrax
11)Mounted mobs that ride one of the 4 above, (kind of like the stone sumit on Mamoths in GW1).
12)Some new dungeons, preferably with story +3 explore paths each and unique gear sets, as original dungeons.
13)The moon on a stick.
