The hype train has died for me considerably… I blame it on the slow trickle of information that is of my interest (particularly elite specs). And I keep searching for other options that may be able to get me interested (I just find the combat very fun in this game and struggle to find another MMO that has something similiar – been curious about Blade and Soul, but ppl are saying it will be Pay to Win and that is bad…. anyhow….)

The new stronghold PvP map I found to be very lackluster… seriously the supply capping and the hero summoning need to be interrupted by damage otherwise it is just too easy to do it with bunker character. (e.g. get a necro with stability and its over, all heroes are yours as long as you started channeling first and you got your second health bar full).

The revanant seems mildly interesting just for the animations, but the weapons are slow and clunky and traits generally don’t seem useful (oh and almost total lack of stun break??? What gives?)… maybe this will get better as the whole intention of the patch was to see if it was working or not and make changes, but I will wait and see on that one…

I did not check the new borderlands map so can’t opine on that… probably should since most of my time is in WvW and PvP….

And, one of the big disappointments for me is the growing prospect of ele getting a warhorn… but I will not go into that in this topic… there are several of these already.

Despite all of the above, I only ask one very simple thing from the devs that is missing for quite a while now and that would make me feel like going for the pre-purchase was not a hasty decision on my part but actually worthwhile.

Give elementalist an elite skill worth a kitten slot…. seriously the current state of ele’s elites is just disheartening.

I see all other classes with many powerful and useful elites (Rampage right now is one of the most absurd things ever IMO). But when I am with my ele (which is my favorite class now) the elite just sits there gathering dust until there is a time I need to trigger my speed shoes to run faster (aka FGS – which is discarded as soon as I arrive at my location because it is horrible for a fight). -BTW ANET, if you haven’t noticed, conjurers are still trigger-cast one skill-drop…. regardless of game mode.

I tried tornado with lightning rod in hopes that would make it decent, nope, still horrible. And the glyph is also very insignificant.. too clunky, hard to hit and most of the time just ignored by the opponent.

So if I can get just one single thing to make me feel like the pre-purchase was worth it, please please fix elementalist elite skills so that using it actually feels like using an Elite skill and not have it sitting there gathering dust while wishing we could put one more cantrip there (and not the bad tornado skill) to at least have something useful in a fight for a change.

I think you’ll find by the time it’s out of beta, at least the revenant part of it will change. I wouldn’t be surprised if the PvP changed too. The big thing for me, though, is the masteries. I like having new stuff to work toward and I like that content is gated behind working toward those things.

So I will unveil more and more of the content in the new areas as I level my masteries.

On another note, the Guild Hall alone is worth it for me.

The revenant probably, class still missing a lot and the idea of the beta was exactly that, so I am not too disappointed with it. The class has potential, just needs to be improved on.

The PvP I certainly hope so… I found the map to be really terrible. The very few ways of interrupting channels really ruins the match, and the heroes ability are also not fun – it allows for too much imbalance with those beefy buff generators.

I forgot the masteries, that may be interesting. It would be fun if those can be used in all PvE and WvW maps though, it could provide an interesting change of pace, but I get that the problem in WvW maps would be the need to allow for gliding combat – that would be crazy.

I am so so on guild halls… I don’t participate in many events with my current guild due to time and the small guild I participated before died – not to mention it wouldn’t be able to do a lot of the new guild contents…. my problem with it is that it feels like the new system for guilds will mean the death of small guilds.

Anet has said that the system is designed for everyone, including small guild. You may need to enlist some help one time, to just conquer your guild hall, but after that, you should be fine with a small guild.

And the masteries are more than just gliding and jumping. The lore masteries allow you to access bosses or areas you wouldn’t know about, until a specific race trusts you. There’s a cave in which lives a boss. Where is it? Only a specific tribe of hylek knows. And it’s a closely guarded secret

As they come to trust you, they reveal the secret and you have a new boss fight you can do once per day. I love stuff like that.
