So I’m not demanding we get Cantha right now. All I’m asking is, where is it? Have y’all forgotten it? Scrapped any and all projects?
Guild Wars 2 is not simply a remastered version of GW1 with better graphics. Guild Wars 2 is a continuation of GW1. That’s why they set it 250 years in the future because they wanted to get some distance from GW1. It’s time to explore new zones, meet new characters and participate in new adventures.
Let’s assume they revisit Cantha and Elona again. By the time they’re done doing that it’s time for Guild Wars 3 and then people would again ask for Cantha and Elona etc.. at some point you just have to say “stop, let’s do something new”.
I love Cantha, but I was totally not expecting it to be in this expansion. It would make absolutely no sense and be random/out of the blue. Maybe, just maybe we can get Cantha in another xpac….if Anet can convince NCSoft that is. I hope they can.

Why are so many people so heart set on Cantha? I hated that series, but that’s me. Move past GW1 guys, no cantha no elona. I would rather see new places, or more indepth places not the same old stuff.
A mite optimistic; I’m expecting summer. I do agree that 2016 is entirely too pessimistic, though.
An entire continent, on the other hand? That could take a good couple years, yeah. And, as was stated, thinks aren’t entirely settled down in Tyria, just yet.
Besides, Cantha closed their borders. We’re not going to hear from them unless some sort of crazy crisis makes them desperate enough to seek outsiders for assistance.
I haven’t played gw1, but I’m willing to bet money that it lies away from Maguuma.
Maybe Bubbles will terrorize there, and we’ll have a reason to go there (which I actually hope for), but until then, keep hoping.
I would rather see a return to the desert, ring of fire island chain, and Isles of Jantheir Fill out the map we have until it is 100% explorable before worrying about Cantha.
and to be fair returning to Elona before Cantha would make seance as it is connected to Tyria.

In GW1, Asians were offended by like, EVERYTHING in Cantha and with GW2 being as popular as it is in China, I can’t imagine ANet being ready to bring Cantha back.

I think he’s just over preparing himself for let downs, as in adding 12 months just in case.
It does not make sense to go to cantha how do we even come there? The oceans are getting terrorised by some kind of minions of the deepsee dragon and the remains of the undead fleet. I think that after we killed Mordremoth we will move towards the crystal desert where krallkatorik is from there we can enter Elona and get a bigger foothold along the oceans to attack the deep see dragon or even find a safe passage to Cantha.
About Asians being offended by Cantha being a mixed Asian culture I can only say: Je suis Charlie.
