Achievement "Leave it to Me"
I’ll second that. If there was a puzzle involved, like say make the little hounds attack the alpha, this would be a cool achievement but this is just ridiculous.
What if I don’t have friends and I still want to play your game?
You can do it solo in about 45 min. Less time if you get the hang of it faster. It’s all about timing your skills and dodges to prevent taking damage.
This has got to be the most ridiculous achievement to date.
The developers need to wake up.
I hope you hung onto that Nuhoch Warbler. Using it in that instance gives you back your normal form and your utility skill slots. Equipping the utility skills with the best damage potential makes things a lot less frustrating.
Alternatively, both Fire Elemental Powder and Ogre Pet Whistles can be used to summon adds that help in the fights.
The first is probably a bug and may be fixed in the future, the second option is completely legit, though (and in keeping with the spirit of the challenge).
An option is to ask a 2nd player to join you, when that trial starts the instance owner should not exit the starting area while the 2nd player just go there and kill the boss (the 2nd player will keep all the skills), that way it takes like 40 seconds to do the achieve
I used the Nuhoch Warbler “trick” to get it solo, and helped a couple players doing the way I said.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)

I used Wolf form so I could use a bunch of attacks, but it could only get it down to 50%, then I died a few times after got it down to 25% before the CD is done. Then I went to wolf form again and rip it to pieces.
Alpha doesn’t regain hp if you die.
Is this the one for the Egg Bearer? It was quite frustrating, but the key is working with the random configurations (of patrolling mobs and where dead allies lie) and raising an army. It’s touch-and-go at first: if you get only one guy raised or if you have two and end up fighting two mobs, you lose, but once you get to three and if you keep moving around the perimeter to avoid massive fights, you can clobber the boss with no problems, solo. I think I had about six raised allies once I got to the boss.
(I think this is the way it’s intended to be done, based on the initial remark that this will show your leadership skills.)

OP is talking about the achievement there, where you need to kill the boss without ressing anyone.
Also, there is nothing random there, all the mobs have a very specific path and all the bodies are always in the same place, even if they die they return to the same spot.

I did it by using a fire ele powder and ogre pet whistle (though had to die a bunch of times on the alpha, since it got to about 30% when my ele and pet died). Just had to be sure to only agro one wolf and let them regen between fights (and make sure to use skills 4 & 5).
Kinda wished I’d known about using the warbler…
Please give us a keyring…

Thank you so much for this <3

This is how I got it done, except we brought a full group. That room got destroyed.
@Belzebu: Ah, so the achievement is exactly the opposite of the point of the encounter. Unless you count bringing a group of friends in to slaughter everything while you stand by the door. Or an exploit. (Actually, I still have the Warbler so I should go try to solo it.)
HAHA yeah, it is.
Some of the achievements in the story is to do the opposite of the mission, like when you see that pit filled with chalks and they say that they can’t go there and it would be certain death, guess what? the achieve is to go there and kill everything haha

This achievement is bull crap >n<
That whole sequence is a demonstration on how not to design a game that you expect players to replay.
The entire achievement is about players effectively utilizing the skills as a rabbit. While you can certainly keep doing suicide rubs for hours, that’s not the best way. I think it took me about 30-40 minutes while also accounting for the time it took to learn how to solo it.

It is indeed 150% bullcrap. Unfortunately they patched it so that if the instance owner doesn’t enter the room (which triggers the transformation of everyone into bunnies) then no wolfs spawn. So this doesn’t work any more.
I tried to solo it, but I couldn’t ever isolate one wolf at a time. I tried for hours and inevitably when I would get the first wolf down to about 20% hp another one would run from nowhere to help him and I would get slaughtered.
The only method I found that still works is to use fire elemental powder. I tried ogre pet whistle as well but those felt a lot weaker than the fire elementals, and the burning from the lava fonts helped out a lot too.
I need this to get the third ascended backpack.
This is seriously one of the worst achievements ever.

An ouch-statement if I’ve ever seen one. But all too true. The worst part is that some truly obnoxious, “flinch once and restart the entire instance” achievements are out there without a viable means of resetting after a failure. Inhumane design.

What’s funny, is people used to teleport past the entry circle and retain their class/skills and kill the dogs that way to get the achieve. The devs actually want us to die endlessly doing this achieve, cause they changed it so that the dogs don’t spawn until you change into a bunny, and there is no way into the room without transforming now.
This really is horribly designed, not a “challenge” just a tedious, attack, die, res, repeat festival.

This is exactly what I did to get the achievement.
As I explained earlier, this method was patched. Can no longer be used.
What still works, and I hope Anet doesn’t patch it, is to bring fire elemental powder and just take down 1 wolf at a time with your fire elemental.
Ok, finally accomplished this solo. I still had a character with the Nuoch Warbler, but that didn’t work. So, I had to take out the alpha myself. Here’s what I did:
1. Kill the nearest wolf to the respawn point by luring it right inside the doorway. It’ll kill you 3-4 times, but you’ll respawn right on top of it. Finish it off.
2. Lure the alpha to the respawn point, by picking at it, running a bit, then repeat. You’ll likely have another wolf tag along.
3. Using the same principle, slowly nibble away at the alpha. I managed to get rid of the spare wolf by fighting just outside the doorway and using my feints to disengage combat, then pick at the alpha to keep it’s attention while the other wolf walked away.
Pull the alpha completely inside the doorway and spend a couple dozen deaths picking away at the health. Took me about 8-10 mins, start to finish. Be careful not to accidentally jump back out to Auric Basic with your respawn click.
