From my understanding there are more mastery points in the game than mastery levels. You can skip quite a few Golds and still max your masteries. But yes, you still need to do probably all of them on Silver and maybe a few on Gold to max your masteries.

You don’t need to complete every Adventure at Gold, no. There are about 20 more Heart of Maguuma Mastery Points available than there are Masteries to obtain. That gives you quite a bit of leeway, though you will need to at least Silver some adventures, as there’s 30 Mastery Points tied up in them overall.

Way too many ‘mastery’ points gated behind these mini games- I’ve managed exactly one silver, having tried several and wasting a lot of time on the JP timed one.
No chance of ever getting gold on any of them, so can’t complete H0T masteries.
What’s also annoying is having their activation locked behind meta or some other event completion – so you finally work out how to reach it, just to find you wasted all that time as it’s locked behind something else.

I feel the same way. I wish they’d given 1 Mastery Point for bronze, too, in order to pump up the mastery points one can acquire. Or just built enough mastery points into the system that you could bypass the Adventures altogether.
I’ve done enough with these to know that I have no chance of getting even most of the mastery points associated with Adventures, so I’m not going to be “maxing” out anything.

A few suggestions:
The Salvage Pit in VB is very easy to Gold and probably the easiest in the game. Make sure to show up towards the end of the daytime to ensure that the adventure is unlocked. Also make sure that no one else is running it at the same time (multiple players in there at once can make it difficult).
The Drone Race in TD is also easy once you get Poison Lore and run it a couple of times to learn the track layout. Beetle Feast is also pretty easy to Gold after a couple of runs learning the layout and read the skill descriptions. Flying Circus is also pretty easy but it can be buggy at parts and requires some high levels of gliding to perform well in.
Yeah, the two Boysenberry mentioned are easy to get gold on (I have gold on both and I am terrible at this kind of thing). You don’t actually need poison lore for drone race, just go to the left instead of taking the last jump.
It’s a bad idea to gate essential content (i.e. Mastery Points) behind these mini games especially when there’s a notable percentage of the population who don’t like and / or will never develop the proficiency for them, but are forced to do them under the circumstances. Some people have already complained about it in another thread (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/hot/To-devs-On-mastery-points-adventures).
Perhaps they should nerf the Gold requirements (e.g. extend timer) for some of these mini games – just a bit, so the majority of people aren’t killing themselves in the process of trying to achieve them. I find Bugs in Branches somewhat difficult because of location-based latency and the subsequent delay in glider deployment.
But making the most of it – on top of the already mentioned relatively easy mini games, Gold for Ley-Line Run (TD) is also doable with a bit of practice. With Beetle Feast I group together with guild members and some of us stay untransformed to kill all the mobs ahead.
for the Ley-Line run, how and when do you use skill 2 ? i can’t get gold.. only silver so far…
yeah, gating many mastery point behind mini-game is bad since many do not like to play mini-game…
Archeage = Farmville with PK
The adventures are garbage. I’m assuming of course that Arenanet put their best foot forward and that the two next to the starting waypoint in Verdant Brink are some of the best, because those two dissuaded me from doing any of the others.
So much on “We don’t want to force players too play content they don’t want to play”
Here we are I’m being forced to play adventures to get the last 23 MP’s I need to max out the Nuhoch Lore and Itzel Lore since I have to have them since items are locked unless I have all masteries maxed out.
WTB adventures permanent unlock for 2,000 gems so I can play unlimited plus times without having to do meta events and only get to play adventures for 15min at a time (VB) Plus with invulnerability from mob at shooting gallery for example.
All the gated stuff makes me sick
“ANet. They never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity to not mess up.”
Mod “Posts created to cause unrest with unfounded claims are not allowed” lmao

I never had to use skill 2, as far as I’m aware it’s used as a stun-breaker for when you get struck by lightning.
There are a few crucial maneuvers that have to be done to secure gold, which can differ from person to person depending on how they prefer to run the path. For me, it would be interacting with the golden marking halfway between the 3rd and 4th checkpoint to refresh skill #3. That, plus using skill #1 dash well before reaching each glowing orb directly ahead. These combined would shave many seconds off the run.
I had a few more attempts after getting gold the first time and I find that around 1 in 15 runs (success rate would improve the more you attempt it ofc) all the maneuvers are executed perfectly and therefore awards gold, so keep trying!.
Those adventure being locked to me is just ridiculous. For most of them there are no reason to do that. And to obtain all the Mastery pts you need you HAVE to do them. Too often I get to 1 and its locked and locked and locked again. Or worst.. you’ve done it like 20 times and when you finally get to know the path to get closer to gold… and POOF it locks on you. How frustrating is that! Really stop blocking our game.
If you get everything else, you only need 5 masteries from adventures.
