Advice for Tangled Hell
Unfortunately, this map is both amazing and horrible at the same time. Its the most detailed map in the game, with many complex layers. That’s also what makes it frustrating, because by the time you find something (if you can find it), its already gone. The only advice I can give is to spend a long time on the map, learning every nook and cranny, where all the events are located, etc., and to max your masteries. Eventually you become more able to do what you need.
I’m usually really sweet… but this an internet forum and you know how it has to be.

If you do the event chains for each of the hubs, as well as the story, you should get a good idea on how to navigate the map. Of course access to wallows helps. I’ve been tempted to write a guide explaining how to navigate that map but haven’t thought of a good way to present it.
Hahaha yea, i thought to myself “wtf?” this map is gonna take a looooooong time to figure out heh. Hope to see your guide one day!
My advice is to pretend the top left corner of the map doesn’t exist. Completely forget about it. Do whatever you can to get to ley-line confluence waypoint. This is your new starting point. Once you have this waypoint your life becomes much easier.
Start from said waypoint. Travel due EAST to get to SCAR lane waypoint. This hosts the 10 event SCAR chain. There are 3 events that cycle over and over after the main chain is done.
Start from home waypoint and travel due WEST to get to ORGE camp waypoint. This is another event chain with ~10 events and 2 cycling events after main chain ends.
Start from home waypoint and travel due NORTH to get to Rata Novus waypoint. This is the 3rd event chain with ~10 events and 2 cycling events.
Once you have ley-line confluence waypoint you can quickly and easily access these 30 events + 6 cycling events. These lanes also contain the majority of the crystallized chak boxes and is the starting point for the meta event.
The final event chain is located up in the top right corner of the map. It is harder to get to, but does give you access to multiple wallows to quickly move around the map. It also contains a 10 event chain with 2 cycling events.
Hope that helps!

Small addition to an otherwise excellent and extremely helpful comment: forget about map completion until you have maximum Nuhoch mastery.

You don’t need max. You can get by just fine without it.

There are some areas that are locked behind the Chak Acid mastery, unless you’ve found ways around those (I’d be happy to hear them because that’s all that’s in the way of map completion for me)

The Chak Stronghold require Itzel Poison lore. I’ve got 100% on the map, and I do not have the Nuhoc Mastery maxed yet

Chat acid mastery just allows you to dodge to remove the acid stacks.
ooooooh okay, I was unaware of that…how do you get past the chak walls then?

Do the story step that involves Tizlak.
The Tangled Hell Meta is pretty much:
Start at the top left >>> Big tree in mid >>> head S by SW and jump down every hole you can find until you hit the Ley Line corridor. Head west to DS and never look back
I’d settle for a detailed "From this waypoint, you take this exact route to get to this POI/Vista/HC.
That would be very useful to me right now.

I think you just go around. Treat them as impassible walls unless you’re in the story instance that uses them as gates.
Anyway, I’ve gotten fairly zen about TD now. I have a fair idea of where most things are and how to reach them. Advanced Gliding really helps, Leylines are not as useful as I’d thought, but can be kinda fun. Wallows are almost vital, at least until you get all the WPs. Remember that the lines are like spokes, but in between the lanes are massive warrens with other stuff going on, Mastery points, Hero Points, etc.
you spend complaining about it on the forums, you’d be
done by now.”
I made a short guide to get around Tangled Depths with a new characters. You’ll need Updraft and Nuhoch Wallows. After grabbing all the major Waypoints, it’s only a matter of participating all the events in the major hubs then exploring the other parts of the map from there. Have fun!
