Hi guys

I was lucky enough to have Dusk drop off a champ in Orr, and decided to sell it so I can split the gold between my and my Mrs. I put it on TP for 1100g, and in 24 hours another 8 have been put on there at a lower price.

My question is, is there any way to determine how many of these things sell on average per day? I guess I may have gone in too high and not sure whether to relist due to it being kitten listing fee. Not in a major rush for the gold but my Mrs has her eye on some stuff so would like it to sell soon-ish, and if I’m stuck with a kipper maybe I should just fill a BO?

People will always undercut you by 1 copper. I wouldn’t worry too much about it unless a significant length of time goes by.

There was a post made by John Smith, about two years ago when we still had the market forums, that ~40 precursors changed hands every day. While I can not really say about today, I imagine the number to remain about the same.

Yeah I was kind of thinking along those lines, I guess another thought was whether precursor crafting is likely to make the price drop, with more available and less demand.

I doubt crafting has any impact at all. The people who want to do that are “purists” that want to do the whole things themselves. It’s not only a thousand times easier to buy it from the TP, it’s often cheaper as well.

Highly unlikely, as the precursor crafting is actually more costly than buying straight off tp.

You might want to hold on to that precursor and build it into Twilight.
If you have a good amount of the required materials available to build the Gifts it will be more profitable than just selling Dusk. (haven’t done this myself since HoT release, but this method did well before)

Only for now, because of the high demand for some items that are required, in 6 months from now it will cost no where near as much,

You also have a lot of people who are pushing to be the first. This also creates way higher demand for some items, again the only people who are complaining about the price of pre cursor crafting are the ones that want it done yesterday, its a simple supply and demand issue.

As for pre cursor prices, its going to depend on the new Elite specs, if a certain weapon is found to be way more affective and falls into the meta, then its price will remain high, if the weapon is unused/ not as powerful it will drop as demand drops, you will probably get a better idea on cursor prices after raids are introduced.

I worked out that it would cost me 600g to make twilight, give or take, with what I currently have and current prices for the rest of the stuff I need.

Question is, are people really like to pay more than 3k gold for a legendary? I may end up in the same position again with a more expensive item on the TP and no money left in my bank lol..

Thanks for the input everyone

Just sell em to buy orders. No hassle and no relisting.

Yup, all the time. I think I sold a Twilight for around 3,400-3,600, and an Eternity for 4,700.

I got lucky and both sold overnight, but the prices fluctuate a lot.
Just after my Eternity sold there were several more listed down to like 4,300, but then it climbed back up.

Patience is key.

I forged and sold 8 dusks since HoT release, none to a buy order, for an average listing of 1135g.
Most of the time, during the first days of the week, traffic is slower than the weekend, so i would wait at least until the end of the week before you consider relisting.

I am not sure, if the Dusk Collection was bugged and if so,if they fixed it yet.

Thanks again for all the tips, I think the best option here is to make twilight and sell that instead, hadn’t even thought to do that but it’s a much greater profit. Also I haven’t any desire for any of the’old’ legendaries so my leftover gift of exploration will go unused if I don’t do this now

Just realised I overlooked a pretty huge thing, I’m 100 weaponsmithing and need 400 to make this. With the extreme price of lower grade crafting mats at the moment it makes it a lot more of a mission lol

Well, if you havent taken it down already in order to craft twilight, you sold it, as prices are back to 1.3-1.5k gold.
