Can we have some of these soon ? I am farming HoT meta for the Amalgamate gem for my legendary and those mats are filling up my inventory at unbalanced quantity.

The only outlet for this mat is crafting Fulgurite which can be convert to gold when you make Jeweled mats and it doesn’t sell well.

Fulgurite is by far & away the best eater in the game.

I’m not sure why you think Jeweled items don’t sell well; I’ve never had any trouble selling for the going rate.

My meaning of Sell well is you put it on the average price (after looking at TP site)and it sold in 3 day at volume of 10 or more.

And the way that HoT map laid out. Tangled dept is slowest to gather the mats. Not to mention the rate you gather Obsidian shards from all source.

Doesn’t fulgurite only eat one of each HoT mat at a time, at a cost of one obsidian shard? That’s not much of a gobbler, considering two stacks of obsidian is hard enough to get that that’s how much you need for a legendary.

Really, Herta should eat Auric Dust.

You don’t get these at a large enough rate that I would think would warrant needing something that eats them.

I could definitely use an eater for them. Just opening chests in my home instance can shovel 5-11 of these into my inventory every day. If I go to map/meta an HoT map, it gets even more ridiculous.

Many alts; handle it!

Right, I post above average price in units of as many as I can manage and I’ve never had trouble selling all within 3 days.

You do know you don’t HAVE to open the chests in your home instance if you don’t want the materials, right? It’s pretty much unavoidable on the maps, but if it just gives you ascended crafting items, STOP.

Uh, I’m not giving up 1-2 free rares per day just because I have to shove 3 items off my inventory panel when my inventory’s full. :P

It would be nice to have a vendor to turn this stuff into (I’m so tired of eater items…) so that the materials don’t go to waste, but the current situation is merely a nuisance due to scant planning.

The problem with fulgurite as eater is really two related parts:

  • It uses equal parts of all ingredients, so I can’t ise it to get rid of a surplus of one of them.
  • It uses Obsidian Shards, but doesn’t provide a way to gain them at a higher rate (as you can’t really convert gold to obby afaik).

I think it’s time we had an “anything” eater. It could be a Mawdry type thing, or a Mystic Forge type thing or a trader but I hate destroying things. There should be something/someone you can throw absolutely anything at that will give you something else in return, even if it is just a few copper or a random common crafting material. We all end up with an imbalance of something. I particularly dislike getting duplicate recipes that are too common to sell on the TP.

For me the best way to solve this problem is just by giving vendor prices to all pseudo-ascended materials. If I was able to vendor a whole stack of auric dust or dragonite ore for a couple of silvers it would work for me.

Easiest solution, and one I fully support. The eaters were cute at first, but they’ve really gotten out of hand.

Though I’m still fond of having a vendor be able to turn oil/dust/energy into map currency.

I agree with you. I don’t consider fulgurite an efficient eater for these mats, precisely because of these reasons. Obsidian shards are used for lots of other things, and these mats are dropped on you by the hundreds. I know I don’t have hundreds of extra obsidian shards laying around to convert these mats to fulgurite, and I’d rather not have to farm to “use an eater”.
